If youre thinking about playing this game, just dont. It takes no skill and the devs just want you to spend obsurds amount of money. Bosses take no skill, just a punching bag reskinned The only the thing this game has going for it is the Auto which is the game grinding for you. But you have to spend 50 bucks every 3 days to keep it up. DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR, DONT DOWNLOAD AND DONT PLAY. You'll thank me later.
even with the nostalgia goggles on this is dogsh*t, even when you like idle games this is dogsh*t. I couldn't even be bothered to get far enough to witness the p2w, but i can imagine its THERE and as horrible as the rest. do not waste any time with whatever this zombie/skeleton of a beloved game is and have some standards to keep your happy memories... and don't taint them with this.

They’ve killed the entire vibe of the classic game. Massive P2W, ghost towns with zero NPCs, and extreme power-leveling that forces an exclusive focus on the endgame. The inclusion of an auto-idle button and absurd damage numbers—along with inflated currency drops—completely destroys any sense of actual wealth or progression. Questing is abysmal, consisting of nothing but "kill 5,000 of X" or "kill 15,000 of Y." The only way to recover would be a classic vanilla server. Restoring what made Wonderking unique: 📈 Authentic Progression: Slower leveling and challenging job advancements that serve as a true milestone and require real effort to achieve. 🚫 No P2W: Purely skill-based, fair long-term balance. 💰 True Economy: Open Market & AFK Stalls/Booths as social/trading hubs. ⚔️ Loot & Crafting: Rewarding unique gear drops and profession-based crafting. 🌍 Exploration: Quests that lead players through the whole world. 👹 True Challenge: Strategic bosses, Guild Combat, and PvP. 📊 Balanced Scaling: No extreme damage or currency inflation. The Vision: Original gameplay & challenge combined with modern UI scaling and high-res support.

Nostalgia isn't enough to keep me playing after what they did to this game... Just no
Um jogo em que a maior parte do tempo você precisa estar fora do computador para progredir. Quantidades de tempo absurdas a serem investidas.
WonderKing, developed by dreamideasoft and published by wondersoft, is a side-scrolling MMORPG that leans unapologetically into nostalgia while trying to reintroduce an older style of online play to a modern audience. It brings back the kind of design philosophy that defined early 2D online RPGs, focusing on steady character progression, cooperative gameplay, and a bright, approachable aesthetic. Rather than chasing modern trends like cinematic storytelling or complex open worlds, it doubles down on simplicity and familiarity, offering an experience that feels rooted in an earlier era of the genre. The foundation of WonderKing is built on a classic class-based system. Players begin by choosing a familiar archetype such as a warrior, mage, archer, or rogue, each with its own strengths, weaknesses, and combat style. As characters level up, they branch into more specialized roles, unlocking new abilities that expand their effectiveness in battle. Progression is incremental and consistent, relying on experience points, gear upgrades, and skill development. This creates a satisfying sense of growth over time, though it also requires a fair amount of repetition, especially as leveling slows down in later stages. Combat takes place in a 2D side-scrolling format, where players move horizontally through stages filled with enemies and environmental obstacles. The action is immediate and responsive, with attacks and skills executed in real time. While the mechanics are easy to grasp, there is still some nuance in positioning, timing, and ability usage that becomes more apparent during tougher encounters. Group play adds another layer, encouraging players to coordinate roles and strategies when facing bosses or tackling more challenging content. This cooperative aspect is one of the game’s stronger elements, reinforcing the social foundation that MMORPGs are known for. Outside of combat, WonderKing places a strong emphasis on community interaction and personalization. Players can form parties, join guilds, and participate in both cooperative missions and competitive modes such as player-versus-player battles. Customization options allow for a degree of individuality, with outfits, pets, and mounts giving players the chance to shape their character’s appearance and presence within the game world. These features help create a sense of belonging and identity, which is essential for a game that relies heavily on long-term engagement. Visually, the game embraces a colorful, cartoon-like style that complements its lighthearted tone. The environments are vibrant and varied enough to keep exploration visually interesting, even if they lack the detail of more modern titles. Character designs are expressive and fit well within the overall aesthetic, reinforcing the game’s accessible and friendly atmosphere. While the graphics are not technically impressive by current standards, they are cohesive and serve the experience effectively. Despite its strengths, WonderKing is not without its drawbacks. The reliance on traditional MMO mechanics means that repetition is an unavoidable part of the experience. Quest structures often follow predictable patterns, and grinding for levels or items can become tedious over time. Additionally, while the retro design is intentional, it can sometimes feel outdated rather than charming, particularly for players accustomed to more modern systems and conveniences. The free-to-play model also introduces optional purchases, which may influence progression pacing depending on how players engage with the game. In the end, WonderKing succeeds in delivering a nostalgic MMORPG experience that captures the essence of older 2D online games. It offers a straightforward but enjoyable loop of exploration, combat, and progression, supported by a strong emphasis on community interaction. However, its lack of innovation and reliance on repetitive systems prevent it from standing out in a crowded genre. For players seeking a return to simpler times in online gaming, it provides a comfortable and familiar journey. For others, it may feel like a relic that struggles to compete with more modern interpretations of the MMORPG formula. Rating: 6/10
