This is an arcade horizontal shoot'em up, that combines solid arcade controls with modern elements like bullet hell phases, tiny hitboxes, different types of gameplay and scoring, collectibles, trophies and many other features, which makes Wings Of Bluestar a fun shmup for both casuals and regulars.

Just started playing this morning. I will be investing time in this one. You can tell right away how good it is. I love that there's a story to explore along the way. I love the many facets used to tactically navigate your ship through the levels. I love that there's a risk reward system. Oh man, I have a lot more to learn, but right away this has grabbed me. Whoever made this is obviously someone who loves shooters (SHMUPS), and put tons of love and hard work into it. Super smooth, polished, old school vibes, modern sensibility, immersive and straight up beautiful.

Play Wings of Bluestar!
Soucis avec stick arcade ps3
Wings of Bluestar was on sale during the Summer Steam sale and decided to take the plunge. The game is a sidescrolling shootemup reminiscent of games like Pulstar from the Neo Geo. Before starting the game I recommend going through the training / tutorials. I did not do this until after a story model / arcade playthrough and missed some vital information in game mechanics. I originally thought the ship was just way too slow only to find it slows down when firing constantly. The graphics have a hand drawn feel to them, very colorful and lively. The colors can sometimes make differentiating your enemies / powerups / items in the heat of the moment though. Fortunately there are some graphic settings to help with the backgrounds. In addition to your standard sidescrolling mechanics, there's credits that can be used to unlock gallery / SFX libraries as well as added bonuses during the game, so replay value is there as well. Overall, my impressions are good and plan on pushing the game to completion.
This game gets a lot of positive reviews, so many users must like it. I do not really get what people see in this software. For me it is one of the more boring shmups, the presentation does not do a lot for me. I must admit that I prefer vertical shmups, but there are some horizontal shmups that are much more interesting like Natsuki Chronicles, Rolling Gunner or Deathsmiles I. Somehow the game manages to make my system stutter with a lot of frame drops. To be fair, I am playing on the SteamDeck and it is not Deck verified, but it still puzzles me how a 2d game can make a computer stutter in 2023.
Beaucoup trop de bugs et laissé à l'abandon par le développeur. Jeu qui tourne soudainement au ralenti sans raison, la musique qui s'éteint toute seule, contrôles qui ne fonctionnent pas dans les menus...
Excellent time!🎩
Too hard to tell where you are at. The colors blend in with your ship and I cant tell where I am at. Would not recommend
I just started it and it looks good. I'll put more time into it later, especially the story mode, which is visual novel phases between stages, pretty neat. The game is old, but still has some bugs, like the pause menu not working. I hope the dev takes some time to fix that.
