Reviews
We Were Here is a well-known cooperative adventure puzzle game. In this one, you'll be trapped in a castle with a series of puzzles where you must communicate with your partner either by in-game voice chat or an external means. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3781154261 The atmosphere is dark and mysterious; you can see the scattered books, read a couple of those, and even recreate a reticle in order to unlock a door. Each player has a different role; one can describe something, and the other applies it to whatever they find around. Some of the puzzles were difficult and took us a while to solve. I enjoyed most of the puzzles, even the timed ones, which were quite stressful yet fun. I didn't like how the symbols looked, as they were difficult to describe to the other player. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3781154209 The soundtracks were ok; they change when something significant happens. As you play in first-person mode, you'll notice that most environmental objects are duplicated across different areas just to create clutter, especially the books, which I kept thinking might be some kind of clue. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3781154286 Pros: +Good puzzles. +Co-op. +OK soundtracks. +Local-host a game. (Can be resumed anytime after checkpoints) +Steam achievements. (You must play the game twice to get them all, once with each role) Cons: -No hinting system. -No manual save. While there were no hints in the game, it made a couple of puzzles quite frustrating, but it was a fun game overall and enjoyable to play with a friend who doesn't mind failing and trying again. Highly recommended for people who enjoy puzzles and co-op games. For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

[/strike]
every 2 to 3 minutes either me or my partner is getting disconnected and it will not even save the progress. and ofc there's no fix that actually fixes the issue... biggest disappointment ever!
The maze is the worst thing.
theres a stupid bug thats been in this game for at least 6 years that if you use your mouse to look left or right your screen just stutters around also there a stupid maze that doesn't give you enough time if you have this stupid bug -The bug is that if your mouse settings are just too advanced it kills your experience, i use a pro x superlight and i had to change the report rate per second to 250 as the default is 1000
maze puzzle is just so stupid, it's not even a puzzle! you just do it wrong enough until you memorize it. completely ruined the game after me and my friend finished two previous games and were completely into finishing the rest of the series we completely dropped it.
You can absolutely skip this game
In the We Were Here franchise, this has to be my least favorite. The game feels very clunky and unpolished. The maze puzzle is just way too frame perfect to complete without external communication, also having to replay the entire game because you missed one switch for the
"Good Ending"
is a horrible experience, the puzzles are just a bit too hard for that to be reasonable. I believe that overall the very first game is more enjoyable than this one in visuals and gameplay.
