Fun game, really like the feel of the troops and the landscape and how they work together. The tactics are smart and useful. I wish there were more levels, but I still got 40 hours out of it. Looking forward to WS2 or some dlc. Update: I wanted to update this review to say I really really have enjoyed this game. I found the pacing and diversity of tactics to be great for the size and play-space of the game-play. I greatly enjoyed trying to use the units as intended, and investing effort into supporting them into each of their specific roles. While some tactics are better than others depending on the situation, and the user can discover what the best tactics are to maximize their effectiveness, if you step away from that and play out the fullness of the game it is very very fun and enjoyable. Still hoping for a sequel or dlc drop!

Good turn-based strategy game. 8/10
Not much content but good if you like history
There are 4 campaings here. First 1.5 is just too long tutorial, then there is some challenge. Nothing extraordinary, just playable hex wargame.
Good game, I have enjoyed the campaign a lot! I do recommend this game :)
Overall 7/10 The game mechanic is very good. I love how each troop loss decrease your/your enemy attack power. And the tactic points system really well tought in my oppinion. My only complain is the disconnection or lack of insentive/loss for each campaign. I wish how well you do in one stage can gain you advantage/handicap in the next stage of the campaign. My wish is that in the next game, the troops that you have is carried over to the next stage with option of buying few new troops in each mission (or upgrade or exchange troops)
good game
fun
Warring States is a charming little hex-based tactical game that punches above its weight for the price — the art style is genuinely lovely, the music fits the period beautifully, and the core combat mechanics are solid enough to keep you thinking about unit placement and timing. The morale system and unit special abilities add a satisfying layer of depth without overwhelming newcomers, and getting an S rank on missions gives you something to strive for. That said, the game feels like it never fully realized its potential: bow units can be frustratingly overpowered, the AI is passive, and after the campaign's handful of scenarios there isn't much left to do. The bigger issue is that development seems to have stalled, leaving the game feeling thin on content for its current asking price. If you catch it on a deep sale and enjoy turn-based tactics, it's worth a few pleasant evenings — but at full price, it's hard to justify.
