Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - Anniversary Edition

This game was my entry point into the Warhammer 40K universe, and overall, I can say I’m pretty happy with that. The game definitely shows its age in some places, but it is still very playable and fun today. The combat is solid, the story was interesting enough, and the enemy variety is actually pretty good. That said, near the end, the game starts throwing the strongest and most annoying enemies at you a bit too often, which got tiring after a while. It didn’t ruin the game, but it did make some sections feel more exhausting than exciting. The jetpack parts, though, were incredibly fun and easily one of the highlights. The boss fights were probably the weakest part for me. The bosses themselves are not really hard, and most of the difficulty comes from the game dumping a million minions into the arena. The final boss especially was pretty bad. QTE bosses are definitely something I’m glad we mostly left in the past. Some parts also felt a little too dependent on just sending more and more enemies at you. For such a linear, action-heavy game, I would have liked a few more creative action sequences outside of regular combat. Still, even with those issues, I had a good time with it. It’s not amazing, but it was a fun and satisfying introduction to the universe. 7/10 - A good game.

I'm a huge (new) fan of 40k and I really enjoyed Space Marine. Total power fantasy of playing an Ultramarine and killing innumerable number of orks and beasties! Very linear and straightforward, but its a fun ride from start to finish (with a couple of rather big difficulty spike throughout)! Highly recommend!

Если хотите пройти эту часть перед второй - не надо. Игра не гримдарковая, кривая, я бы даже сказал неинтересная. Озвучка плохого качества, локации пустые, бои недрайвовые (особенно на высокой сложности), импакт у болтеров минимальный, при этом игра ближний бой вообще никак не поощряет. В общем, 6 часов тупой боли ради возможности пройти сюжет самостоятельно за 300 рублей. Даже для 2010 года игра 6/10.
