[h3]"I will endure a thousand deaths before I yield!" - Captain Titus[/h3] [u][b]💀Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine (Anniversary Edition) – A Brutal Story Shooter That Still Holds Up Today[/b][/u] Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine was my first contact with the games of the 40k universe, which is truly huge with its variety and the sheer number of titles available. From strategy games and RPGs to action shooters like this one, there is something for almost every taste. The combat and controls feel a little clunky by today’s standards, but they are still a lot of fun. The combat system is brutal and offers a good selection of weapons. Alongside the legendary chainsword, you can also use additional melee weapons as well as various ranged weapons such as pistols, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, and more. The especially cool part are the brutal executions that can be performed with the weapons, which fit perfectly with the atmosphere of the game. In addition, the Space Marine has access to further equipment and abilities that add more variety to the combat. The story is epic, dark, and brutal, just as you would expect from Warhammer 40,000. The campaign is divided into individual chapters that can be replayed at any time after completion. The difficulty is well balanced on "Normal." On "Hard," the game becomes a little more demanding and offers a bit of a challenge in some sections, without becoming unfair or overly difficult. The game’s age is naturally noticeable in its visuals. The graphics are somewhat outdated by now, but overall the game has aged surprisingly well and still plays solidly today. I was particularly surprised by the online mode. There, you fight alongside other players against waves of enemies. Different classes, weapons, and customization options provide variety. Surprisingly, you can still occasionally find other players even today. In the few rounds I played, I had a lot of fun with the online mode overall. ⚜️[b]Conclusion:[/b] Despite its age, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is still an enjoyable, brutal action shooter with a strong atmosphere. Anyone who can look past the somewhat dated visuals and is looking for uncompromising combat in the 40k universe should definitely give this game a chance. Ну, это просто хороший шутер по Вахе. Не скажу, что сюжет тут цепляет, он довольно средний. Вместо этого всё вывозит окружение: взрывы, убийства, толпа орков, вокруг идет бойня и это прям захватывает. К плюсу добивание противников тоже скрашивают картину. Единственное, что раздражает, это противники, которые за секунду сносят броню и здоровье.

I really loved the game, both the story and the gameplay. It is surprising how well this game has aged after more than 15 years. However, the game has known bugs, some quite annoying (like complete crashes of the game at certain specific moments due to resolution issues on modern computers); servo-skulls that disappear, preventing you from listening to the audio logs or getting the related achievement; the character sometimes gets stuck in place, for example on mounted machine guns, forcing you to reload from the last checkpoint... All of this would be acceptable, given how old the game is, but for a price tag of 36€ (as of now) I find it unacceptable. You will most likely enjoy this game, but please be aware of all of the above and only buy it when it is greatly discounted!
