Wargame: Airland Battle

I'll admit that I like defined campaign of european escalation much more than this dynamic set of skirmishes, but skirmish mode itself is way better, more polished, challenging and fun than in ee, and that's enough for me to recommend this game! Fully modelled armory is also great addition enhancing my reception.

European Cold War combined arms combat on a massive scale. This time: with planes! Game is challenging but a ton of fun. There isn't any base building; it's all about battlefield sector and choke-point control. It requires thought, planning, and deliberate action - I would not call this game easy. Watching your units move and fight is great. The simulation is pretty tight and you can do everything from watching tank squadrons duke it out to following individual aircraft on attack runs. Aircraft add a new dimension to the game and it takes a bit to learn but provides more strategic depth. If you like the RTS genre, war games, or are a modern military buff this is one you should play for sure.

It's a cool, realistic RTS. You can get some value out of the single player, but the playerbase has moved into Red Dragon, which supercedes it in pretty much everyway.
