In Village of Zombies you can fight against zombies and mutants together with other players or alone on different maps, the goal is to survive as many levels as possible. The game always starts at level 1 and with each level increase, more zombies and stronger zombies come.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

No just no its clunky and wrong and feels bad this is a half an hour that I could have been pounding 9 inch nails into my scrote that would have been more enjoyable than this. I spent the last half an hour weighing the pros and cons of lobotomy via soup spoon...I don't like to leave negative reviews but I CANNOT allow myself to be cursed with not saying how I truly feel about this game I like to do a compliment sandwich when I review games I try to find at least one good thing. THERE WASN'T ONE!!!! This is a rancid Krabby Patty
Village of Zombies is a really straightforward third person zombie shooter, and I think that is both the good thing and the bad thing about it. I am dropped into a map with a gun and my only real goal is to survive as many levels as I can. Each level brings more zombies and stronger enemies, so the longer I survive the harder everything gets. There is no big story getting in the way and I can just start shooting straight away. I actually like that because sometimes I just want a simple game where I know exactly what I am supposed to do. The main progression comes from the points I earn by hitting and killing zombies. I can then spend those points on stronger weapons, which becomes increasingly important as the later levels throw more enemies at me. I like the basic loop because there is always a reason to keep shooting even when I am surrounded. Getting enough points for a better weapon can make a noticeable difference, and I have to decide whether I should keep saving for something stronger or spend my points sooner. It is a very simple system, but it works well for this kind of arcade shooter. I also like that I can play it alone or through cooperative multiplayer. When I am playing alone, the game feels much more like a personal survival challenge because I have to handle everything myself. In co op, there is a revive system, so getting knocked down does not immediately end the run as long as someone else is still alive. There is something satisfying about reaching a later level and realising how much more difficult things have become compared with the start. The game also lets me choose different characters, although the overall structure stays focused on surviving rather than building a complicated character. The biggest problem for me is the lack of variety. The basic idea is fun for a while, but I am still doing the same thing over and over. Kill zombies, earn points, buy better weapons and survive the next level. There are different maps, but the core gameplay does not really change much between them. Once I have settled into the rhythm of the game, I know pretty much what I am going to be doing for the rest of the session. I think more enemy types, special objectives or different types of weapons could have made the later stages more interesting. There is also quite a lot of extra content locked behind paid DLC. The base game gives me the main experience, while additional packs add maps, weapons and characters. The Tropical pack adds a new map, an extra weapon and four characters, while Abandoned City adds another map, weapon and character. I do not mind having optional extra content, but it does make the relatively simple base game feel smaller once I start seeing how much more could have been added. I can still play the main game without buying anything, so it is not a deal breaker for me. The presentation is decent enough for what it is trying to do, although it is not especially memorable. The third person view works well because I can see enemies coming from different directions, and the maps give me enough room to move around when the zombies start closing in. I do not think I would play this for its graphics or atmosphere, though. The fun comes from seeing how long I can survive and watching the number of zombies increase as the levels continue. It feels more like a simple arcade challenge than a fully developed horror game, and I think that is the right way to look at it. Overall, Village of Zombies is a basic but enjoyable zombie shooter that gives me a clear goal and gets to the action quickly. I like the point system, weapon upgrades, different maps and the option to play alone or with other people. The limited variety is what holds it back most for me, because after enough time I start feeling like I have seen most of what the game has to offer. Still, the simple survival loop works, and the fact that I can play the base game for free makes it easy for me to give it a chance. It is not a deep zombie game, but it can be a decent way to spend a short session when I just want to shoot a lot of zombies. Rating: 7.7/10

Wave based zombie area defense game. I am guessing this was somebody's sandbox to try out game design, and they released it for sale when it was 'just good enough'. Asking $7 for this is ridiculous. It is fun for about 30 minutes with a couple of friends. If it is on sale for a dollar (maybe 2), it can be fun for a couple of quick rounds. Otherwise, best avoid this one.
