I've changed this review so many times, trying to give it credit where credit is due, but I've reached a point where I'm just done. Do not. Buy. This software. It's incredibly slow all of the time, has frequent bugs and often destroys my projects in the export, and for some reason I'm unable to update without paying a second time???? Now, with Videopad and NCH overall being on the more obscure end, I haven't been able to find much information on WHY this is. I've read from many sources however that while the paid license is a one time payment, after six months you are required to pay for updates. I don't even know how to begin on how predatory that is, and while I'm not entirely sure if it's true (like I said, it's a slightly obscure app, all I could find on the topic were some posts on their own forum), all I know is whenever it prompts me to update it proceeds to install an entirely new app with a free license and tells me to pay again So maybe if I decided to shill out more money to them it'd be less buggy, but uh... no. Just don't waste your money, it's not worth it in the slightest.

this program is very user friendly, I get very overwhelmed with adobe and other editors, this one keeps things simple, while still producing great content. Love it ♥!

Edited a whole video, slow btw, and then when I saved it, YouTube doesn't see it as a file/

There is a LOT wrong with this. I'd highly recommend avoiding Videopad for steam. Off steam, sure, it's a solid video editor, super reliable and I've found in the past doesn't crash, but on steam? It's really bad. - It gives you endless advertisements for other NCH products - Updates usually don't add anything - Updates themselves are done in software and will sometimes fail or not even register (for some reason my laptop is version 13.42 while my desktop is version 13.60-something, installed on the same day as well) - Doesn't have the bells and whistles you'd expect from a high end video editor like automatic object tracking or a could masking system for VFX. - This is a straight port of the version offered on their website. That means THE LICENSE RUNS OUT with no way to fix it. Generally, if you have something you need a reliable software for, Videopad is probably the way to go, but for it's incredible incredible reliability it suffers in too many other areas for me to recommend, which sucks since this is literally the software I learnt to edit videos with while in university and highschool. Back then in like 2017 I would have said this was a deal, now I'd say wait for the off chance it costs $40 or less.
