Victorian Mysteries: The Yellow Room

I have played some crap games in my time but this will take some beating i played till the bitter end in the forlorn hope it got better -it did not so don't bother with this game as all it does is piss you off and make you hate the french even more

Sleuthing with style. Pretty accurate early 19th century ambience. Good voice actors, loved the French accent. A pity that the music kept repeating, despite the abundance of Romantic compositions to choose from. The early 19th century, those were the days of 16 hour workdays in the factories and tuberculosis. Not mentioned in this game of course. Enjoy a trip down history lane.

I enjoyed this old-school hidden object game with excellent hidden object scenes (not just junk and not so obvious) and intriguing story line (based upon a French novel). There are plenty of plot twists, and I loved the music. At times, the graphics are crystal clear but not always, Nonetheless, I found the game fun and have purchased another in the series. To me, the game is reminiscent of point-and-click but is definitely part of the hidden object-adventure genre in its early days.

The game was really fun and interesting. The graphics show that it is an older game, however it was still beautiful. I was a bit disappointed with the ending. In the end, not only do you not solve the mystery yourself, the events told by the detective makes no sense, with multiple loose ends, no evidence and your own characters efforts were not needed to solve the mystery. I would've preferred a better story for the ending, however it was still fun to play. A lot of riddles, puzzles and search games to keep you busy and to help "solve the mystery". This game can also be played on an outdated PC and it runs really smooth. I did not have any issues even though I used my work PC to play this game.

a decent HOG which was originally released in 2012. you do not need to play the first part for the story. they do not connect at all. pros good story with a twisted ending good voice acting fair difficulty HO scenes ok puzzles cons. some plot points at the end where meh [b]beastie. seriously?[/b] kinda short a bit more than 2 hours for the main story no bonus story overall i do recommend the game for having a good enjoyable story. i give it 7/10

Aardige game! Leuk voor 3 uurtjes vermaak. Voor een click-and-point niet zo uitdagend: de teksten en taken laten weinig te raden over, benodigde items zijn over het algemeen snel te vinden. Je fietst dus aardig soepel door deze game heen. Het verhaal is een spannende klassieke who-done-it, al is het plot een beetje warrig (en het einde komt vrij abrupt). De omgevingen zijn mooi vormgegeven, je krijgt echt het gevoel in het verhaal / tijdsera te zitten. Overige visuals (karakters, zoekobjecten, bewegingen, etc.) zijn niet zo sterk. Maar hé, wat wil je voor deze prijs? De audio is (vooral in het einde van het spel) onbetrouwbaar (blijft in de cutscènes tussen zacht en hard schommelen.) Al met al; als je tijd over hebt en even lekker wilt click-and-pointen zonder je hersens al te erg te hoeven kraken, dan is dit een prima spel. Tip voor de ontwikkelaar: verwijder de voetstapgeluiden wanneer je van ruimte naar ruimte gaat. Dit zou verboden moeten worden in click-and-point games.

Real story line adventure with lots of HOG. I would recommend for HOG fans.
