About

A psychological horror game where a police officer investigates a cold case in a decaying house, uncovering a strange tape recorder that reveals a terrible secret.
In 2011, an old unsolved case leads you to an abandoned house in a desolate and desolate suburb. No signs of life, no answers.
Inside, you find old VHS tapes, forgotten and covered in dust. At first, the tapes seem like meaningless relics of the past. However, as you play them, things start to get strange.
These tapes are more than just recordings. As you watch them, you realize that there is something there that should never have been seen.

The Vesnith Tapes was a huge surprise. Usually, when a horror game is genuinely great or genuinely terrifying, word spreads pretty quickly. People start recommending it, streamers pick it up, and before long, everyone has at least heard of it. So when I came across The Vesnith Tapes and realized almost nobody was talking about it, I wasn't exactly expecting much. If I'm being honest, that's usually a pretty bad sign. Thankfully, I was completely wrong. This game does an incredible job of building tension through its atmosphere. There's a constant feeling of unease that hangs over the entire experience, and it immediately reminded me of Visage—which is a huge compliment considering that's one of my favorite horror games when it comes to atmosphere. The game isn't relying on nonstop jumpscares to keep you engaged, either. Instead, it slowly builds that feeling that something is terribly wrong, making you question every hallway, every dark room, and every strange sound you hear. Then, when the jumpscares do happen, they hit incredibly well because the atmosphere has already done all the heavy lifting. Everything about the experience felt polished. The environments, the pacing, and the way the game keeps you uncomfortable all come together to create a genuinely creepy horror experience. What surprised me most is that this game isn't talked about more often. I honestly think it deserves far more attention than it's getting because it's a really well-made horror game that absolutely deserves a place on more people's radar. Overall, The Vesnith Tapes was one of those hidden gems that completely exceeded my expectations. If you're a fan of slower, atmosphere-heavy horror—especially games like Visage—I would absolutely recommend giving this one a shot. It deserves a lot more recognition than it's getting.

The overall atmosphere was really great. However, the maze-like layout and the sheer number of doors made me feel like I was going in circles, which was frustrating. By the time I got used to navigating and finding my way around, I had already finished the game.
good game
One of the scariest horror games I’ve ever played! https://youtu.be/ocu-NpEPLyM The atmosphere is so creepy and gives players an eerie feeling of unsafeness throughout the gameplay. I am still looking over my shoulders 😂. Great game.
