Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Message from the Publisher
"Have you ever dreamed of becoming a flying ace who rules the sky?
Now your dreams can come true when you play Vertical Strike Endless Challenge.
The high freedom of movement in this game lets you dance across the sky, shooting down waves of incoming enemies. As you become familiar with the controls, you will start to discover more stylish ways to take down enemy fighters. Refine your skills and make your own stylish plays!
My favorite methods are somersaulting behind enemies on my tail, or dive-bombing enemy fleets from a high altitude.
Don’t forget to tweet your results to prove you are a flying ace!"

Endless replayability, love it. Would love it even more with a bit more planes and a much wider variety of game modes, as well as plane customization.

Not working with t16000, keyboard only.
Y'know how Gran Turismo 2 for the PSX had two separate discs, one for the 'actual' game and one for the arcade mode? If you didn't, now you do. Anyways, I mention that because Vertical Strike is the arcade mode disc equivalent of a PS2-era Ace Combat. It's not making itself out to be anything more than what it is; what you see on the store page is what you get. Anti-Air takes place in an endless stretch of Plain, Anti-Ship takes place in an endless stretch of Sea. You pick one of two planes (which are practically the same, gameplay-wise), you head out, you do your thing, and whenever you get shot down, you either go back to the hangar to restock and try again or you call it a day. It's a very plain game, pun unintended, but I feel like that works out in its favor as long as you're fully aware of that, going into it. Pretty cozy for when you want that AC 'feel' straight away, stripped down to its basics. I banged out all the achievements in a little over four hours, which - combined with the fundamental entertainment of a well-done AC clone - makes the game's base asking price pretty fair. It does go on sale for like A Buck occasionally though, so if you're on the fence, I'd recommend grabbing it then - but I feel like ICKX have earned their fivers here. Now when the hell is that EFFY translation coming out. Come on. Gimme the sauce. Thing's been marked as COMING SOON for like half a decade now.
THIS is the game I always wanted since first playing Top Gun on the NES. A simple, bare bones, aircraft combat game. Solid soundtrack too.
English review: I recommend it, especially for the price. To be honest, this is a very simple game. In terms of graphics and presentation, it even feels older than its 2017 release date suggests. However, considering how cheap it gets on sale, that is not a big problem. I saw some reviews mentioning issues with running the game, controller support, and similar things, but personally I did not have any problems. The game ran normally for me, and I was able to play with a controller without any trouble. In fact, I think it feels much better with a controller than with keyboard and mouse. One positive point that I really liked was the achievements. I found them pretty fun, and this little game actually made me want to try other similar games. Overall, it is not a very impressive game visually, and it does feel quite dated, but it works well enough for what it is. Is it worth it? For the price, yes. On sale, I think it is worth playing. Vale a pena?
