Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Aug 27 → 2.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Welcome to the Canis Major dwarf galaxy! We hope that your trip through the Great Gate was a safe one; many of the fortune-seekers that embark on this dangerous journey never make it this far. After all, an unauthorized jump of 25,000 light years through a heavily guarded artificial wormhole is bound to cause some issues – both technical and legal. Thankfully, now that you’re here, it’s time to get straight to business.
Choose your own playstyle
Combat: Fight enemies using a wide range of weaponry.
Mining: Scrape asteroid surfaces or blow them to bits to harvest their core.
Salvage: Discover and salvage derelict ships and wreckage.
Trading: Find the best trade routes. Buy low, sell high.
Play the game full screen or place it on the bottom of your desktop
You can let the autopilot play idle or take a more hands on approach.
Find and collect loot
You'll find powerful gear and rare items that allow you to push further into the sectors.
Buy and upgrade new ships
Choose from a wide variety of ships, ranging from small miners to large destroyers.
Dynamic NPC captains
From rival pirates and traders to helpful miners. Interact, ally, fight or avoid them.
Refine raw ore/salvage and craft your gear
Raw resources can be refined into materials. Use these materials to craft powerful gear to boost your ships and level up your game. Or sell them for a handy profit.
Level up your captain and hire crew
Pick from multiple skill trees and unlock powerful abilities or focus on becoming an industrial powerhouse. Crew with different professions provide passive perks and unique bonuses that enhance your skill trees.
Explore a vast, procedurally generated galaxy
Travel using the gate-network.
Story & dynamic missions
A wide range of different missions that will require you to diversify your ships.
Play Vanguard Galaxy full screen on a second monitor or place it at the bottom of your screen. It stays out of your way when you need to focus on something else (work, play another game, or watch a video). Engage the Autopilot and your ship’s ECHO system will complete most basic tasks on its own, with minimal input required from you.

You are let loose in a procedurally generated world where corporate interests clash with the galaxy’s established population. Pledge allegiance to one of the corporations, or stay neutral and forge your own path. The world reacts to your actions and builds its own storyline as you explore new systems and make a name for yourself.
Level up your captain and crew, and equip all of your space ships with top-of-the-line components. The deepest reaches of the galaxy may be savage and unpredictable, but with sufficient preparation you’ll be ready for any challenge it can throw at you.

I played the game for over 300 hours then they did an update and made the game totally garbage they're making the crafting system overall in the game suck and a lot of skills useless 50% of the hours on this game I actually played actively myself I don't really like using the AI cuz it kind of sucks and other reason why I'm dropping this game also drones are now kind of useless this is impossible to find officers that will allow you to deploy drones faster anymore so you'll die before you kill all the targets cuz it takes too long for your drones to come out the game is evolving in a direction I don't like so I'm done I might check it out again in the future but it's pretty much not for me anymore
I wanted to like the game, I really did. It's a beautiful concept, full of nice ideas. The "idle" part is a really nice feature. ...But... it shoots itself in the foot way too many times. 1. AI mines asteroid fields by itself, but: ignores claimed asteroid fields (prefers public ones), hauls the minerals to the nearest station (if it has no Forge, you're screwed). 2. Manual mining and salvaging are EXTREMELY boring. 20 minutes to salvage 5K worth of stuff, while I stare at an empty screen with nothing to do? 3. Attacking a pirate station was extremely frustrating. Your ship actively fights you, flying every which way, mostly failing to avoid enemy rockets and nibbling at the wrong station parts 90% of the time, despite having a clear designated attack area. 4. Upgrading is a TEDIOUS process and improvements are not nearly making a visible impact. +1.5% to fire rate is not worth the sweat. 5. Some items disappeared from my Cargo until I restarted the game. Early access, I know, but man, the game needs some core design reconsidered. I will revisit it at release, but, as it stands right now, I increasingly wondered "why am I even playing this?", to the point where I stopped.

Vanguard Galaxy is a fantastic low impact space game with an idle component to it. There are a ton of ships and modules to upgrade your ship as you progress through the game. I highly recommend that if you pick up this game, you immediately activate the beta in the settings of steam to see more of the updates that are happening. This game seems to be getting updated once or twice a month and the Devs are very open about the progression and what is happening next. The "idle" component of the game is unlocked 30-45 mins into the game and is not a way to speed through the game while you are away, more like a way to gather a small amount of income and reputation that can increase to up to 80% or so efficiency (more with other game mechanics). This game is worth the money if only for the fact that it is as chill as you want it to be, but there are still ways for quite difficult combat if you want.
Game loop is decent, progression is well balanced and motivates you to go to higher difficulty sectors without twisting your arm. Game runs fine, not too demanding, and you can mostly pick your play-style and enable AI for doing work while in background. The AI assistant is would need some more brains, like it says it will automatically equip the best build for the task but can't seem to unequip mining equipment to equip salvaging equipment on its own. I've also encountered several times a "No mission available" even though many existed.. Anyway, minor gripes. I enjoy seeing my little ship go pew-pew gathering minerals on its own. ... and cringe when the AI keeps going on its own in dust clouds causing armor/hull losses for no reason. For 10 bucks, you can get dozens of hours of playtime on this. Recommended!
I thought this looked interesting, and it was on sale, so what the hell. This game has two buttons: Left click to go, right click to sell. If you're expecting something deep (or even slightly complicated), you'll be disappointed. Others compared this to EV Nova or Eve Online; it's utterly simple and can't make up its mind to be an idle game or an active game. As a result, it's the worst thing a game can be: boring. And since the game uses AI art throughout, it's also the second worst thing a game can be: lazy.
eh takes a lot to do a little. AI art should be replaced but still dont like theft as a business model. Autopilot has been losing me money so whats the point ? lol But really. its just not that fun.
Classic Spaceship RPG. Lots of addictive fun. Idle game element is excellent. Looking forward to the forthcoming updates.
This game is a gem. For many reasons. You hunt early access looking for games to support that have Devs that obviously care about the quality of their game. You want a game that you can check in on every 3-4 months for new content or noticeable progress in development. Vanguard Galaxy offers idle and active gameplay. Most of my 400 hours is active though. Currently you can choose Combat, Salvaging and Mining to do a variety of things including quests crafting and loot through combat. This isn't face paced action combat it is more chill in that aspect. Click a target then watch it blow up in whatever fashion your ship does it. The heart of the game is Skills, Crew, Ship and Weapon upgrading. There is a lot more I could write in this review but I don't feel like spending an hour detailing all the reasons I love this game.
