this is an unforgettable story. it doesn't feel like a game, with the few minigames being hard to control (the only downside) but the story and the development of the characters make up for this. i balled my eyes out at this story, it gains emotional investment, if you've ever dealt with a loss of a loved one, play it. don't spoil it for yourself, go in blind. 10/10

Truly incredible, some of the best character writing I’ve seen ever and several moments that made me tear up. I don’t think it’s a perfect plot or anything, it’s never less than fascinating but it can get a little confusing for its own good, though it never loses sight of its wonderful cast of characters and the meaningful relationships between them. It’s also just stunningly beautiful and detailed at every moment. If you love narrative games, please play this! And don’t forget to stay till the very end of the credits for something special. Also, quick note to Steam Deck players: a lot of the minigames require mouse input, you’ll either need to use the touchscreen or, as I did, rebind the right trackpad to mouse and right trigger to mouse-click. Worked great after that.
