Ok so this is WWII Egypt but with undead hordes mixed in, sounds like it could be weird but it's fun! First thing that got me was just walking around in the desert levels, it actually feels like a place, not just a corridor with sand textures. Tombs are decent size too, actually worth poking into corners instead of just running to the next objective marker. Combat is cool once you get the hang of it. Responsive, loot drops feel like they matter. Played some local co-op with a friend, worked fine too. It's only one act right now obviously, more coming later, and they're upfront that price goes up as they add stuff. That's fine by me, at least you know what you're getting for your 20 euro right now instead of some vague promise. Not gonna pretend this is the second coming of gaming or whatever. It's just solid, the atmosphere is really what sold me on it. Also, boss fights!
I got the game because I like looter shooters and the setting of the game looked awesome. The game is in the early stages but I found that there was the first act was still quite long. I really liked the story so far. The graphics are pretty nice and found that the day and night cycle gave the game great atmosphere. The way the enemies respond feels great too. However, I did had to get used to the camera angle. But after playing a few hours I didn't bother me that much. Also the UI can be improved as I it can be a bit confusing sometimes. All in all, an interesting game with a lot of potential.

Keep up the good work. This game has a lot of potential. Now after an hour: + the different areas of the game are nicely designed and very atmospheric + loved the voice acting + combat and controls feel very smooth, + loot is nicely implemented. I was really was comparing gear the whole time (the epic double barrel shotgun rocks). - inventory management and skills can be better, I was fidgeting with that, but yeah, what can I say considering Early Access The game needs some polishing but it was great fun to play. Definitely recommended.
If you've ever wondered what it'd be like to play a dungeon crawler in WWII Egypt, look no further! I've played the demo before, so I've got some more playtime. As I mentioned before, Under the Desert Sun has you running around WWII Egypt, with lots of expected enemies (the Nazi's), but also many unexpected enemies, namely all the zombies running around. The mysterious, ominous atmosphere of the desert immediately intrigued me, and I've been trying to solve what's happened ever since my character spawned. The dungeons are fun to explore, and I love reading the lore that's scattered around them, adding to their mystery. The art style is great as well! The game helps you navigate around the vast desert, with little markers giving hints on where to go next. There's many different enemies, and thankfully, as you level up, you've got more upgrades to take care of them. You also get some great loot drops, further enabling you to blast through the hordes of zombies, Nazis, or both. It's great fun running around, shooting them all up! The game is of course still in early access, but I'm very excited to see what's going to happen next! If you enjoy ARPG's/dungeon crawlers, I'd definitely recommend it!
As a Dutch guy the closest thing we have to a desert is Scheveningen at low tide, so mybe I'm easily impressed. But the Egypt vibe in this game is awesome . The lighting especially, torchlight flickering in tombs, then stepping out into that harsh desert sun. Super immersive for a crawler. Pacing surprised me too. It's fast, lots of shooting and undead ruining your day, but the game also gives you quiet moments to just wander and enjoy the scenery. Those are honestly my favorite parts, after clearing half a Wehrmacht battalion plus their mummified friends, you NEED that breather, ROFL The writing deserves a shoutout as well. There are funny jokes hidden in the storylines, and I lolled a couple of times. Did not expect that from a game about a cursed vessel. Small points: the UI took me a while to get used to (though I'm not the most gamer gamer, so take that with a pinch of desert sand), and inventory management could be smoother. It's Early Access and the indie dev is patching fast, so no dealbreakers. First act is already surprisingly long. Looking forward to the next chapters. And no microtransactions: the only cursed thing here is the vessel, not the monetization (which I like as a Dutch person, lol). Recommended!
Normally, I don't play games that often, but a friend recommended this one, so I had to give it a try. So far, I've been playing it for five hours, so I guess that's a positive thing. :-) I really like the theme, action, and pace of the game. Keep up the good work!
I have been following the development of this game for some time now and was really looking forward to the EA release. I really appreciate the fact that this game is the result of the inspiration and creativity of a solo indie dev (and a few artists) who loves to tell a story. I really like the result so far, playing the game gets me really into the story with goosebombs all over the place. If you are thinking of buying it I would really recommend it, now in EA is a perfect time for that. The developer is active on Discord and really happy with all the feedback, responds quickly and patches bugs quickly as well. Combined with him sharing his thoughts, doubts and full journey makes you feel part of it. Happy to be part of it and happy to be able to support it.
Worth it! I like the small interactions in the storyline, while shooting with all kinds of weapons.
