very fun game for the 20 minutes it took to beat with a friend :D
I only have 3 gripes with the game. 1, its not long enough, i want more, i want to explore more of Venice, i want more levels, i want to fight that guy in the church covered in blood or whatever it was at the end there. 2. The Jesters dont have a walking sound, dunno if thats like a my pc thing or not but i cant hear their steps, i find it unnerving but also gives them a sense of not being finished yet. And finally 3, I want lore, i wanna know How this happened, Who the Ravens are, What the ♥♥♥♥ caused the Jesters to look like they had an encounter with SCP 035, How are Venice Officials dealing with the situation and how they react to the mysterious Ravens. All in all i want more. I personally Love Venice as a setting and the only games i think of using it are Assassins Creed and Zombie Army. And i also Adore bird related roles like Plague Doctors and these Ravens emulate that for me and i love it. I can only hope DHS plan to add on to this and improve it further and i wish them luck with it.

Cool concept, we loved the healing bell. The sounds are so incredibly loud though, we gave up before finishing the mission.
it may not be finished but a promising start for a game i could even pay for
Loving the visual style and the story, as mentioned in the game, it's better to play with friends however I wanted to quickly get some first impressions before the expo. It's hard playing alone, but it was still great to get to experience the atmosphere and the creepy jesters!
Un gran juego la verdad, si tienes amigos con los cuales jugarlo es muy divertido. Lastima que no hay muchas personas activas, pero esta 10/10 para pasar el rato.
Umbra Mortis is a really fun little co op shooter that immediately caught my attention with its bizarre combination of religious imagery, carnival horror and undead enemies. I play as a member of a secret organization sent into a corrupted version of Venice, and I liked how quickly the game gets me into the action. The setting feels much more memorable than the usual abandoned military base or generic zombie city. The shooting is straightforward but satisfying. I move through the streets, blast through waves of undead carnival goers and use a mixture of rifles, explosives and a powerful blessed artifact to keep myself alive. I liked the weapon variety because each option feels useful in different situations, especially when larger or more resilient enemies start appearing. The artifact is particularly fun because it gives me a more unusual way to deal with groups of enemies. The cooperative structure is easily the strongest part for me. The game is designed around playing with friends, and working together makes the encounters much more enjoyable. I liked having teammates nearby when the hordes start piling in, because covering different directions and helping each other survive makes the action feel more intense. The linear structure also works well here because everyone has a clear idea of where the group is supposed to go next. The atmosphere is probably my favorite thing about Umbra Mortis. The Venetian streets, carnival decorations, lanterns and fog create a really striking backdrop for the violence. There is something wonderfully strange about shooting grotesque undead performers through beautiful old European streets. The visual style is also surprisingly strong for a student project, and the combination of dark fantasy and religious themes gives the game plenty of personality. My biggest issue is that the experience is quite short and focused. The combat is enjoyable, but there is not a huge amount of progression or build variety to keep me playing for a long time. Once I have seen the main environments and understand the enemy types, the basic loop becomes fairly predictable. I also noticed some technical roughness that can occasionally take away from the otherwise strong atmosphere. Even with those limitations, I think the game understands the kind of experience it wants to provide. It is not trying to become a massive progression based shooter. Instead, it gives me a memorable setting, straightforward weapons and a cooperative survival experience that I can enjoy with friends without needing a huge time commitment. The enemy designs also help keep the action interesting, especially when stronger variants start appearing in later encounters. Overall, Umbra Mortis is a stylish and enjoyable free co op FPS with a surprisingly distinctive setting. I liked the Venetian carnival atmosphere, the blessed weapons and the frantic teamwork required to survive the undead hordes. It definitely needs more content and polish to become something I could keep playing for much longer, but as a short cooperative shooter it has a lot of charm and a genuinely memorable identity. Rating: 7.2/10
This game looks very nice with its aesthetic, but it seems like there may be an audio bug.
If you ever feel like killing your friends, this is the game to play. It is a short game buy can take long if you have teammates that wants to kill you. the game should be extended
