Started this when it launched for global last year, thinking It would be like most Gatcha games for me, try it for a few days, remember how much I dislike gatcha games, and quit. Haven't missed a day yet. The Good- The game is highly approachable with a excellent story, great animation, excellent music and a fairly simple gameplay loop that is satisfying when you get the big training bursts or win rough races. One of the biggest strengths of the game is the Uma's themselves (obviously) with every Uma being based on a real life horse, it gives their career stories something a bit extra, and even if you don't care much about the stories, the Uma's themselves remain adorable. Barrier to entry is pretty low (but not without issues.) New features and updates come fast with lots of QoL improvements as global gets a accelerated release schedule as we try to catch up to the original JP version. Likewise with global being on the release schedule JP had, you know whats coming, and what to save and prepare for. The Bad- Normal gatcha rules apply here, so your gonna have to fight to get your oshi's, likewise your card deck is the source of most of your Uma's power meaning you have to decide if you want to be highly competitive but restricted on your Uma's, or more casual but with more Uma's. If your lucky you can balance it with the generous caraet giveaways and free card rolls, but you'll never hit the absolute top players if that's your goal. Likewise while barrier to entry is low, the barrier to advance is much higher, unless your willing to whale, new players will be stuck with weeks/months of waiting for free carates and free rolls to try and start catching up to other players, putting you at a disadvantage in team trials and CM's. Likewise because global is on the same (but accelerated) schedule that JP had, we sometimes get stuck with weird gameplay as cards or Uma's fall off earlier then expected. Final bad is the current scenario that will be live until the end of the year, Grand Concert the most RNG heavy of all game careers, its like playing a slot machine to get the tokens to bet on roulette.
