GREAT
Very satisfying management sim. There's a ton of quirky and fun exhibits to collect, with several different themes and subcategories, and a host of decorations to make your museum your own. There's always progress to be moving towards, by increasing your knowledge of exhibits or improving your museum's star rating to unlock new upgrades and items. I also have to praise the story mode for steadily introducing more complicated concepts and systems for you to master in a way that isn't overwhelming, so that you progress from managing fossils to caring for sea life, then dealing with (sometimes hostile) spirits, then gathering resources to build powerful science exhibits, and then collecting and arranging space exhibits to unlock their full potential. I have a few complaints. You're limited to a single save slot, with a quicksave/load that will be overridden by the game's autosave, which is a bizarre restriction in a single-player, non-competitive museum sim. Your staff AI can be stupid at times, like when a security guard walks past a full donation bin because another guard on the other side of the map started walking that way first. There's a lot of grinding in the form of repeatedly running expeditions to collect items for analysis, if you want to max out your museum's knowledge rating. In general, much of the game is spent watching your museum run while waiting for expeditions to return with new exhibits to place. Though that last point ought to be expected, for a game like this. Despite those complaints, I've had a great time building up multiple museums into successful bastions of learning and culture. This is an excellent game to relax with while you've got something playing on the second monitor, a most enjoyable timesink.
great management game, funny museum themes
its fun
