Great game, way harder than I thought but very rewarding
This game perfectly captures the spirit of exploration and mystery from the early Zeldas in a way that not many games can. All of the puzzles are solvable with what the game gives you, and despite how esoteric they can be, none of them require any weird moon logic or pixel perfect bomb placements. The combat is fun and challenging enough to be satisfying without feeling unfair. The art direction is excellent and the soundtrack might be one of my favorites. The game always feels like its nudging you in the right direction and rewarding you for experimenting without feeling like its handholding or just giving you the answer. And if getting the endings isn't enough, there's a rabbit hole of secrets both in and out of game to fall into.
Combat was decent The world never really gets any easier to navigate Everything about the true ending felt like a letdown. It's tricky to construct a world around mystery and secrets and have the reveal live up to the expectations in players' heads. Dreams are limitless and reality is bounded. Even so, this was a major whiff in my view.
It's up there with Outer Wilds
The combat is a bit wonky, and all the bossfights are more frustrating than fun. But that's okay, the puzzles are straight up 11/10, and make up for every shortcoming this game might have.
This game is a Zelda-like with admirable exploration and satisfying combat. However, there is more to this game than meets the eye. I came into this game as a palate cleanse as I played Fallout: New Vegas prior. This became more than a palate cleanse and transformed into a truly memorable title. This is a game that is absolutely essential to avoid all spoilers for as there are many pleasant gameplay surprises.
