Trolls vs Vikings: Reborn

Trolls vs Vikings Reborn is a love letter to the people who have supported this charming PvZ Clone since its original release from 2012 as well as the discontinued Trolls vs Vikings 2 if anyone remember. Reborn even brings back the original Game Director (Jørgen Tharaldsen), the Artist (Aslak Helgensen), and the Music Composer (Aleksandar Dimitrijevic) back to work on Reborn as shown on the Recent Events and Announcements page. While Reborn still retains the silly old wacky Troll charm, the team continues to put in the effort on adding new features such as Brutal Difficulty, brand new challenge levels that are constantly updated, and replacing the micro-transaction mechanics into a totem system where you can spend Runes to obtain new trolls/upgrades/spell counts just by completing the level (depending on the difficulty). If anyone is disappointed with Plants Vs Zombies Replanted, I would recommend Trolls vs Vikings Reborn since it is made by actual passionate developers who have return to hand-crafted us this wonderful Remake, the game is redone (without major game breaking bugs on release), the music is also redone, and the art/animations is redone without the use of AI-Upscale.

Wirklich toll! Ihr mögt Plants vs Zombies? Dann ist das hier ein absoluter Pflichtkauf. Bei diesem ganz speziellen Tower-Defense-Spiel setzt man Spielfiguren als Verteidiger in eine von mehreren Linien, wo die Gegner dann nach und nach herangewatschelt kommen. Natürlich muss man einige Dinge erst einmal freispielen, und man darf auch nur eine sehr begrenzte Auswahl mit ins Spiel nehmen. Das sollte dann bestmöglich gegen die aktuelle Problemformation helfen, um die gegnerischen Wellen bis zum Ende abzuwehren. Gespielt wird einer großen Anzahl an Maps, die eine lose zusammengesponnene Kampagne bilden. Gewürzt wird das mit ein paar netten Bosskämpfen. Hat man alle 3 Schwierigkeitsgrade durchgespielt, so ist das ganze immer noch nicht vorbei, denn man hat neben einigen Zusatzmissionen sogar auch noch einen Endlosmodus eingebaut, wobei Letzteres meint, dass man immer weiter neue Missionen spielen kann, die dann nach und nach immer etwas schwieriger werden, weil die zusammengeschusterten Gegnerhorden bessere Einheiten und Strategien erfordern. Das Gelände kann dem geneigten Verteidiger ebenfalls ein par Steine in den Weg legen, also wortwörtlich. Wenn ein Wikinger direkt vor der Ziellinie aus dem Erdloch kriecht und den wichtigen Produktionseinheiten zeigt, wie man ganz leicht den Löffel abgibt, dann sollte man seine Taktik noch einmal überdenken. Damit ihr auch alle wirklich eine ganze Weile motiviert bleibt, haben die Entwickler auch einige ganz interessante Steam Errungenschaften ins Spiel eingebaut. Ich habe auch erst gedacht, ich würde ein paar davon wohl niemals erreichen können, aber als ich alle wirklich relevanten Dinge freigespielt hatte, war plötzlich das Meiste davon sogar echt gut machbar. Und wer noch ein paar Anregungen braucht, für den habe und werde ich noch einige Screenshots mit einem ultimativen Killerbuild und Settings für Achievements hochladen, damit sollte es eigentlich recht gut flutschen. Bester Tipp: holt euch sofort den Morgenstern-Knüppelheini, holt ihn euch, tut es. 2 Buddler am Start, dann Metallkugel direkt aufs Auge, der Rest kommt von ganz alleine. :-) Über die Grafikengine und den Sound brauchen wir nicht großartig zu reden, alles ist nett und gut genug und das Zeug läuft vor allem sicher auch auch einem Steam Deck quasi dreistellig. Ich habe unter Linux gezockt, es gab keine Probleme. Fazit: buddeln, buddeln, buddeln! (aber kein Bier vor 4! ^^)

I recently decided to replay Plants vs Zombies, had a good bit of fun with it, but wondered why I haven't seen any other lane defense games along the same lines. I found a handful, but most of them behave quite differently. This one though? This is scratching the PvZ itch perfectly, with the core gameplay similar but with a few mechanical innovations. Good game. Having a lot of fun with it!

[h1]Тролль - хороший, Викинг - плохой. Не перепутай![/h1] Trolls vs Vikings: Reborn - переработанная игра 2013 года выпущенная в Steam. В целом неплохая PvsZ подобная TD, правда ей не хватает разнообразия легенды 2009 года. Кампания не трудная, кажется недоделанной, но это обстоятельство скрашивает наличие дополнительных квестов, где у игрока отбирают открытые им ресурсы и защитников и заставляют пройти уровни на "правах разработчиков". Всего квестов 51: некоторые реально замороченные. 5 из них я не прошел, не хватило терпения. Есть еще бесконечный режим, который я прошел до 33 уровня и мне надоело. Очень однообразно. Играл в него ради достижения 25к убийств. Если нужна эта ачивка, то после прохождения основной кампании придётся набивать в квестах и бесконечном режиме ~15к убийств. Достижения в зачёт пока не идут.

What instantly hits you harder then Thor`s Hammer dropping from the sky, right onto your head is, how similar this looks to another popular game series with plants and undead, this is quickly engulfed in flames, when you play a few levels and notice how much extra the devs have crammed into this to make it much more then just a clone. For those of you who haven't played the previously mentioned PVZ games, Trolls vs Vikings (TVV) is a strategy game, set in a fantasy world, using a grid system, you need to defend your village from the impending viking attacks. The tutorial is fun and simple to understand and if you have played similar games you probably wont need it but its over quickly and you can start the main levels. The game introduces things slowly, so you aren't overwhelmed, to place extra miners & defenders you need moonstone, this is obtained by your miners, who cant attack so you must defend them with different type of attackers, these range from a simple catapult shooter to a troll with knuckle dusters, right up to a fire breathing dragon and lots more! One of things I loved about the attackers is some can be moved between the lanes, so if they are needed elsewhere quickly, you can simply drag and drop, the troll with the knuckle dusters is a defender and a fighter, he also heals when out of combat. The general game-play loop is collecting moonstone, placing miners, defenders and attackers to fend off the viking attacks, if one reaches your village its game over, fortunately you also have a few spells at hand, a rock which can be dropped on one enemy and a scorch spell that targets a whole group. Finishing a level earns you runes, which you can then spend in the in game shop of sorts, the great thing here is, if you decide you want to change something e.g. you unlock a new troll but now want to try a different one, you simply un-check the one you no longer want and spend the runes on what you do, this can be done as much as you like, you can also upgrade your spells, unlock extra troll slots, make the game easier, all by spending the runes, but as I said, if you want to change, just change it any time you like. I played 5 levels while streaming the Plays & Chats Review and the game does get progressively more challenging but always remains fun. After the stream I had a look at "side quests" which are optional and much tougher additional missions for you to complete. Every new viking or troll you unlock gets added to an in game kind of Wikipedia so you can read up on what they do. Graphics and animations are colourful, cartoon like in a fantasy theme, the sound effects are great and game is very funny as each viking dies or gets zapped by one of your spells. For the tiny price of just £4.99 TVV offers strategy fans a fun, challenging and very chill experience, lots of humour, plenty to upgrade and extra missions to provide even tougher challenges. The developer Megapop also informs me today that a "brutal" difficulty mode is coming soon! I highly recommend TVV to anyone that enjoys this type of game, especially fans of PVZ and similar games, buy this today and destroy the Vikings ! This gives me PvZ vibes back from when I adored it - so new and nostalgic at the same time. Really, it's cute. The writing is fun, the characters are memorable, and the moves are great. Got really into playing this live on stream. Super grateful the devs hooked me up, but honestly, I'd buy it even if they hadn't. It's a fantastic little time waster in all the best ways.
