An excellent light-weight colony sim game with a tight narrative, Trappist makes up for its short overall playtime (compared to other games in the genre) by providing a solid groundwork for future additions and enough depth to scratch that new-colony-sim-itch. Where many other colony builder/sim games attempt to provide variety of experience upfront, Trappist provides a more focused vision that makes it likely more approachable to people new to the genre, or for less-intense overall management while still making use of resource balancing mechanics. While the game has sufficient polish to be considered "complete", if it receives any further additions on a similar level to the content already present, they will be welcome additions that balance out its only real weakness, which is to say its relatively short runtime and potential replayability.
I really enjoyed this game. I liked very much the micromanagement through 'trade' routs with newly built spaceships across the Trappist system The story is pleasant with crew dialogs and report after completing misssions. it's really worth the price and time

Pretty cool so far. Building cities on planets, having cargo ships run things through different locations. I have to start over because my first settlement is poorly positioned. But, hey so far it's a cool game.
It's a cute game with a surprising amount of depth and great humour, but it still has a lot of unimplemented content and missing quality-of-life features. I highly recommend the game, but at the same time, if you're finicky about wanting a polished and finished game, maybe wait a few months - the author is still updating the game to finish it up.
no real taroural
Still learning the game but so far so good a nice game. I wish the crew was more representative of all humanity however. Wish we could also acquire plastic from plant sources as we can in real life.
It is a little bit rough, especially UI and little bit the building. But otherwise I really love it and it is good.
The tutorial teaches you the bare minimum, then abandons you to find out that you have to already know exactly how to play before you can even begin the real game. The research doesn't tell you anything about what you unlock, there is nothing telling you how to make more of the resources you started with, and only after playing for 2 and restarting 3 times did i realize that you have to start at specific spots and on specific planets. If you don't do that then you will softlock yourself out of the game.
Definitely worth a look if you enjoy colony building and resource management games! Amazingly addictive and satisfying for such a simple game. There are areas where more tutorials or in-game tips would be helpful. For example, I was at least three hours into the game before I realized I could set up trade routes with my cargo ships, because the button only appears when you are on the space view and zoomed out past a certain level.
Its ok I guess. Just heavy on the clunky micromanagement. Then by the time you get the hang of it, its over. Short game eh.
