Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 6.71/day in the week to Sep 15 → 17.71/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
RECOMMENDATION WITH A HUGE CAVEAT
While not terrible, some areas in this game are extremely poorly optimized. Regardless of how good your PC is this will mean some inconsistent framerates even when you lower your video settings. Besides that, while I do enjoy the original more, the QoL in this game is sure to make it a great entry point for anyone on the fence!
This hits the same notes as the OG but is an improvement in every way imaginable. Hands down my favorite RPG of all time. Can't wait for the second one. Great music, characters, and storytelling. Dialog heavy but it all adds to the spectacle.

Trails in the sky is fun. The best feature in my opinion is the orbment system, it feels super close to the materia system but I think it could allow for more customization. Every character can just learn the same spells though so it feels kinda lame because you end up using the same S+ rank attacks for the last 25 hours of the game on every character. The combat is fun but maybe I didn't understand it completely because it felt like I was fighting against unwinnable BS due to rng a couple times throughout the game. The story is okay but
definitely is a giant nothing burger until literally the very end, not a fan of the whole sasuke retrieval arc thing they are setting up
The worst part of this game is the script and the voice direction, if you look at the cast on paper its loaded with stars but there is nothing they could have done to save the script. The dialogue is so bad, every character interaction feels like it goes 10 sentences too long. Fun game, good combat, I will get chapter 2 but I may wait for a sale. - Sent from my zuerchburger

Citing a certain YouTube video: I like that I like this game. What can I say? On one hand, the narration is extremely predictable and, let's say, Japanese. You can see every major plot point from miles away, sometimes even from the very beginning. There are too many "cutscenes" where the gameplay is interrupted for useless exposition. On the other hand, I found it all very charming still, maybe due to my experience with Japanese content. From what I heard beforehand, and also from my experience, this first game of the saga is more like a chill adventure and not some standard RPG where you start killing rats in the sewers (actually, you start basically doing that) and end up killing God. The gameplay is top notch; it may take a bit to get used to, but then it clicks and it's great. Weirdly, I found the difficulty curve a bit strange. The boss I found most difficult was probably the first one, but maybe it was just my understanding that improved. I started having some trouble on Normal and ended up finishing the whole game on Nightmare. There are also a TON of quality-of-life features. Everything gets tracked, you can fast travel, every area has a chest check that stays until you get every chest, etc. I never felt like I was going through a chore, at least not before the last couple of hours where I got the platinum, but that's me (guys, spam those preemptive combos like your life depends on it if you don't want to farm at the end for the platinum). The side characters are fun (Olivier, my beloved), maybe a bit monodimensional, but this is also the first game in a long series, so maybe they get fleshed out later on, idk. Estelle and Joshua are the stars of the cast, and I LOVE Estelle. Can't say much more about it. Some final tips: at first, I thought that you could go back to the regions (there are 5 main regions) you had already visited to get the stuff you missed, but it seems like that wasn't the case. Also, a thing I like very much is that while Estelle and Joshua stay with you basically all game, the cast rotates in your party. Aside from the very final dungeon, the game never forces you to choose a character to have in your party while leaving some others behind. Every time a character leaves your party for a long time, every piece of equipment they had on is given back to you. Moreover, every time a character joins you, their level is very high (I think it scales with yours), meaning that there is never any need for needless farming. If you just play the game and do the side quests, you are basically good to go. All in all, I liked this game enough to spend 90h getting every achievement, and now I'll surely play the sequel and who knows, maybe the whole series.

It is not very often that one encounters an opportunity to just marvel at the embodiment of poetry in motion. Trails in the Sky has the impact of Langston in it's great writing, it's unique character types, and it's multi game world building. I played and beat the original on the PSP a few years back and was nothing short of astounded at the quality of that experience. Man, did they improve on every aspect that made the original so heralded. I dare say that it is one of the best stories I've ever encountered in a game to date. The reworking of the combat system is the real star, as the combat engine was the main element that aged the poorest. The graphics and the stellar soundtrack just add to an already perfect experience. There are not many games that give me no other option but to praise it. Trails is one of those rare instances. Part 2 is just around the corner, aiming to around off an already stacked assortment of offerings this year.
The character dialogue is genuine fire, yet to fail to make me laugh
The did the Joshua crossdressing scenes justice 10/10 remake.
