Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter

Not only an amazing remake, but an amazing JRPG by itself. Interesting, clever, and does not waste your time.

A fun and beautifully crafted JRPG that holds the warmth of childhood whimsy along with some clever writing. Albeit, some dialogue is chosen that gave the taste of oddity and some tropes were less than charming. The Animation and Cel Shaded art work was incredible as well however. Good game. :3

It’s not a Cold Steel game.

This game was my introduction to the Legend of Heroes series. I had heard the name every now and again for years but never gave it a second look until it was recommended to me by a couple of friends. I loved this game to death, and it is the first JRPG I wanted to 100%. The story gripped me; I am a sucker for world building and this game did A LOT of it! The characters and locales engaged me, and I am excited to see how everyone continues to grow as I continue the series. The music was really nice, and I love that they included the original and arranged OSTs as well, which gave my subsequent playthroughs a nice variety. The difficulty of the game was also fair; I finished 3 playthroughs on Normal, Easy, and Nightmare respectively. I would highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a new JRPG to play. The amount of side content makes the game perfect to play however you want, the incentives for going out of your way to do everything are worth it, the story is engaging, and the gameplay is just fun. The combat system took some getting used to, but I grew to really enjoy the orbment system, arts, and crafts. All in all, I would say that this is a great game, and I cannot wait to play the next chapte'sr remake when it comes out.

Its great. The way the story presents itself and builds the world set it apart from other games in my inexperienced opinion. The combat grew slightly boring (and easy) near the end, but the addition of a speed up button was a godsend.
