About
Trail & Error is a chaotic co-op survival game for 1–8 players where poor decisions, bad luck, and questionable teamwork are just as dangerous as the trail itself.
Travel together across an unknown frontier, manage limited supplies, survive unpredictable disasters, and try not to abandon your friends when things go wrong. The goal is simple: reach the end of the trail alive.
Every run is a shared journey filled with dynamic events, environmental hazards, and tough choices. Food runs out. Illness spreads. Weather turns hostile. Your wagon breaks at the worst possible time.
When disaster strikes, you’ll have to adapt on the fly or deal with the consequences.
Movement and interaction are driven by physics, turning everyday tasks into unpredictable problems:
Haul supplies and manage a physics-driven wagon
Navigate rough terrain and environmental hazards
Watch plans fall apart in the funniest ways possible
The physics won’t always kill you, but it will make things complicated.
With proximity voice chat, coordination matters especially when things start going wrong. Expect frantic callouts, bad ideas, and arguments that feel all too familiar.
1–8 player online co-op
Physics-based wagon and character movement
Randomized events and dynamic weather
4 Different map biomes
Survival based mechanics
Resource management: food, health, and illness
Proximity voice chat for immersive (and chaotic) communication
Trail & Error is about teamwork, survival, and the comedy that comes from everything going wrong at exactly the wrong time.

loads of friendslop fun. can't wait to see where this game goes
The game is pretty fun and definitely chaotic! A bit hard to do on your own if you don't know what you are doing but I got lucky and had Warka the dev join me and help show me the ropes! Great game to play with friends. Try to stay alive!

first time playing it me and my friends could not stop laughing now its all glitches. The water and wagon physic sucks the littlest collision destroys your wagon and sometimes getting off the wagon i get launched to outer space. would not recommend to others fix the game
bare bones 2 hour walking sim
-Great game filled with lots of fun with big or small groups. -Multiple ways to play/strategize your journey -Will sob from laughter -Continuously died from dysentery, lore accurate my experience to the OG OT -Comedic timing is GOLD -Endless surprises along your journey to keep you on your toes and entertained -Devs keep up to date and roll out fixes often -Levels are saved as checkpoints so you can pick up where you left off -Your creativity is kind of the limit to how you want to approach your playthrough -Genuinely look forward to playing this with my friends on the weekends 10/10 play drunk or sober, same amount of fun, my new go to co-op game
I know the concept of the game is supposed to be "Difficult" but seriously the controls are absolutely terrible. If the controls were just remotely better with the aiming of the gun, movement, inventory system, etc...then it would be much better. When we got to the first checkpoint and paid to get our diseases removed, the game charged me but I have to pay several times just for ONE of the diseases to get removed. Overall I had to pay 12 times or more to remove 3 diseases on myself. The campsite when you "sleep" your items disappear and are lost.
It is a fun Game that is better with friends
Game was absolutely hilarious - although a few things I was confused on: 1. The box couldn't be used by myself, but I saw that others could put items in the storage? I am unsure what i was doing wrong but I ended up having to throw everything into the wagon. Which leads me to.... 2. The throw mechanic honestly is hilarious - I was flinging stuff across the way vs actually it landing in the wagon, but I feel this might frustrate some folks - so not sure if that's on purpose or not? When throwing items are they supposed to fly across the map basically? And then.. 3. While it threw me off, I set my game up for friends on steam only; however, a random ended up joining my game. While it worked out - this actually made me uncomfortable at first. I think if you set it up for friends on steam only - then only they should be able to join. I did have a lot of fun and ended up cracking up with the random folks I played with - but I was absolutely lost originally on how they joined my game at all lol *shrug* Otherwise, can't wait to play the game again - was hilarious and a good time!
