Trackmania rewards experimentation and creativity just as much as raw driving skill. You're not just racing the track — you're solving it. That's what makes it feel like a precision platformer at ridiculous speeds. The instant restarts, ghost racing, leaderboards and relentless pursuit of a faster time create an incredibly addictive loop: one more attempt... one more tenth... one more second. It also scratches an itch that I didn't realise I had until playing it: high-speed arcade racing. If you miss the ridiculous speed and spectacle of old-school games like Wipeout, Trackmania provides a very different take on that same feeling of flying around a track at insane speeds. And the beauty of the free Starter Access is that you can experience the core of this without having to commit to buying the full game. Trackmania isn't really about simply crossing the finish line first. It's about crossing it 0.127 seconds faster than you did five minutes ago. And then spending another hour trying to find another 0.127.
