Greetings to our newest toy inspector!
Today is your first day of work here at Toy Maker’s TOY BOX. At the end of their shelf life, it’s up to clever inspectors like you to decide which of the Maker’s creations are worth salvaging.
Pull apart stitches or rip off an arm or two; we support whatever you must do to ensure that you only save toys of the highest quality. Should you ever feel unsure, there’s no need to panic! Simply toss the trash where it belongs: the incinerator. After all, it’s of the utmost importance that inspectors upkeep the Maker’s image.
We look forward to your hard work here at the TOY BOX and congratulations – only the most special candidates have the honor of inspecting on behalf of the Maker!

I will mention that I only got the very basic routine ending and haven't done the others. Highlights of this game are the art and atmosphere, which I quite liked, along with the story (both for each toy as well as for our protagonist's, as much as u get from the routine end). The idea of the story progression is quite unique and interesting (breaking the toys to find out more about them and deciding if to salvage or destroy), it plays very well on the judge, jury, exectioner moral dilema, the value of a life and nature of afterlife. I will say that the downsides are the simplicity of the 'minigames' to break the toys if you can call them that. They still serve their role as an unconfortable transition between the states of the toys (if very little), but they require so little interaction that they barely feel necessary. Another wonky aspect is the camera movement to look around the rooms, it feels at times very unresponsive and slow with the mouse. The routine ending was quite weirdly executed as well, I am left with the impression we could potentially run and hide (and in the inspection room we saw some potential places), but I just get a black screen after with sounds of running steps ? I can't tell if i was supposed to understand to somehow blindly click somewhere where i remembered seeing places for hiding (that assuming the chracter even left the office, which was not clear), if the ending bugged out or the running & hidding implication meant nothing and it was simply a slightly lackluster ending scene (will not spoil what happens after black screen). Either option implies some improvement on that part. Overall still a nice short free experience and maybe will come back to get the other endings for more lore.
Pretty short (and free) with some interesting personalities to uncover during the investigations, definitely worth checking it out
Genuinely not as disturbing as the description makes it out to be. It's worth a play. As a warning though, the disassembly parts are wonky on steamdeck. You're better off playing this with a mouse.

A fun, dark, short story game. All for the price of free! What's not to love? The sound design is stellar and the stories dark and moving. Settings also have a nice accessibility feature that cuts out minigames (thank god because I can't click fast enough on them).
A skin-crawling point&click visual novel comprised of individual character stories. Every aspect from the colour pallet, the extensive backgrounds, the central toys and their progressively worsening appearances and the shadow play-inspired memory sequences are beautifully done while keeping an unsettling atmosphere and incorporating a good amount of horror imagery. The two rooms you can look around in go further to each side than strictly necessary making the looking around sections a bit more interesting and add to the environmental storytelling. Also well done is the sound design, particularly during the taking apart of the toys. The background music is also quite nice to listen to. Each toy is unique and Tune-Me-Toe was definitely the most unpleasant of the toys to take apart, sound and appearance-wise as well as in terms of personality. While each toys backstory is overall clear, none of the stories handhold the player and some of the details you have to infer yourself through vague imagery and wording. At the end of the game there are still things left unanswered, which can be seen as adding to the horror factor. Personally I would have liked the endings to perhaps be a little longer. The mini-games are very simple and work well enough, though I feel like they could still be optimized a little more in terms of fluidity. Regardless the instructions to each of them being presented as schematics are a very nice touch! All of this put together makes for a solid game with some room for improvement.
