Total War: ROME REMASTERED lets you relive the legacy that defined the award-winning strategy game series. Remastered to 4K with multiple improvements to visuals as well as refinements to gameplay, it’s time to revisit a true classic. Not everyone gets a second chance to conquer the Roman Empire.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.29/day in the week to Aug 16 → 5.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Das gute alte Rome wieder mit etwas besserer Grafik verpasst und die Neuerungen trüben nicht das Spielgefühl.
It's a deep and entertaining game that is great at both the turn-based strategic level and the real-time tactical level.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

New UI is atrocious. Devs went to all this work to allow you to choose between classic and remastered options but for some reason didn't give you the option to use the classic UI???
Garbage game!
Lost in 245BC as House of Julius, on normal diff, with REBALANCED settings ON. How did this happen? I followed SPQR orders, started war with Gauls. Shortly after taking Mediolanum, 4 units of Hestati or whatever (light infantry) garnisoned here for defence lost siege battle against single gaul cavalry unit. After that event i took city back and was constantly sieged by Gaul forces, they were sending full army every 2-3 turns into siege. So i had no choice like to send constantly produced light and heavy infantry into Mediolanum. Basically a stationary war were i couldn't collect forces to attack them, and they couldn't break through. What happened next was a random war declaration by Dacia or more precisely: invasion without declaring a war. What is weird is that i had relatively good relations with Dacia and had Trade with. For no reason they sent out 3 full armies and steamrolled me. Couldn't do ♥♥♥♥ anymore at this point House of Scipio (blue~) was winning against Carthage, but House of Brutus (green~) was losing just as i did. REBALANCED version of the game, if not entire Remaster, is extremely weak. Doesn't look "that good" to bother, but you can't really buy "old version" anymore. AI is straight forward cheating and rigging the game to make it more "enteraining" and "interesting" i guess. If you want more fair experience in the "older" games, but on "newer engine". Go for either Medieval II: Total War, or Shogun II: Total War. These at least felt fair.
Just play Rome 2. This game is very clunky and unintuitive to play, and hasn't aged well.
Once you get used to the weird UI, this is best way to experience this classic. Still one of the best Total War games ever.
All time favorite. Classic total war game, the one that got most of the fanbase into the series.
No matter how long I go in between plays, or how long I game at a single sitting, this game never seems to get old to me!
