Embark on an interplanetary adventure as the first robo reporter for the Times & Galaxy, the solar system’s most trusted holopaper. You’re just an intern, but if you can get the scoop, write great stories, and impress your colleagues, maybe you'll get to keep your job!

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Congratulations, *NAME_REF!!ERROR*! You’ve landed an internship with the Times & Galaxy, the Dorp system's favorite regional holopaper and five-time winner of the Bort Jorbeller Award for Satisfactory Interplanetary Journalism!
There’s never been a robo reporter before so don’t waste this (unpaid) opportunity. All the greats started as interns and you’ve only got seventeen cycles to prove that you belong in the newsroom.

We’re assigning you stories that put the hyper in hyper-local news! On any given cycle choose to cover shuttle crashes, intersolar cat shows, even space ghost funerals. It’s up to you!
Once you’ve chosen your assignment, head to the shuttle bay and blast off for intern adventures!! That means interviewing sources, digging up clues and investigating the scene. We hope your conversational circuits are well oiled as you earn or betray the trust of more than 100 characters and ask a lot of questions.
There’s always more than meets the eye, and the more information you can gather, the more equipped you'll be.

At the end of each assignment, it’s time to file your story.
Use the Build-a-Story™ tool to construct your article using all that info you gathered. Depending on who you interviewed, the choices you made and how deep you dug, you’ll have different options to work with for your story—you were a diligent reporterbot and managed to get ALL the info, weren’t you?

Your choices impact the quality and tone of the story and how both your editors and readers will react to it. Over time, the choices in each story start to shape the reputation and popularity of a holopaper. So hey, no pressure!
Designed and written by former journalists, this is almost exactly how real journalism is done. Except with aliens.

The staff at Times & Galaxy all live and work together on the Scanner, a sprawling, spacebound newsroom.
Between assignments, you’ll have the chance to get to explore the Scanner and get to know a diverse and colorful crew of more than twenty crewmates including your fellow reporters, the editorial staff, pilots and ship’s crew.
The staff come from all over the system, where you’ll find Humans, Augers, Verge, Xeel and of course, Robos.

Everyone has their own thing going on and they’ve always got something to say. They’ll react to you in all sorts of expected, and unexpected, ways depending on your choices.

The Scanner is more than just a newsroom. It’s where you sleep, eat, work and relax.
After recharging your literal batteries in your bunk you might take a moment to recharge your emotional ones in the Garden, home to many species of plants from all over the system. Or at least it used to be. Find seeds to restore the green space to its former glory!

As well as selecting your chassis and paint job before you arrive at the Scanner, you’ll be able to requisition upgrades from the ship’s Shuttlebots. Just watch out for the mouth on some of them. “Beep” has never sounded so aggressive.

Writers at Copychaser spent years working as journalists before entering the games industry and have a deep love of local journalism and the connections it creates in communities around the world.
While working on the writing teams of games like Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age: Inquisition, they saw how players loved the relationships between characters as much as, or even more than the combat and adventure.
And so Times & Galaxy was born. We’re excited to bring you this truly unique adventure game where you can step into the metal boots of the first-ever robo reporter. Chase down leads, break system-rocking news, get quotes, make friends (or enemies), eat a dirt pie! It’s your solar system to explore, your story to tell and your job on the line, intern.

Alberta-based indie studio Copychaser Games Inc. was founded in 2017 by Ben Gelinas, a former newspaper reporter who has spent the past decade working in AAA and indie game development.
Copychaser’s specialty is unique, inclusive games with branching narratives and memorable characters. Every Copychaser game puts the player at the center of an eccentric and immersive story unlike any they’ve ever played.
In 2018, Copychaser released the death-positive, wholesome horror game Speed Dating for Ghosts (SDFG) to wide acclaim. Since then they’ve been working hard on Times & Galaxy, bringing together a bigger team of collaborators and gaining support from the Canadian Media Fund and indie label, Fellow Traveller.

Sums Steam only; Xbox, GOG publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

First and foremost, I loved Times & Galaxy. There's a ton of charm in the characters and the writing, and they really managed to capture a lot of the highs and lows of daily reporting. I was really impressed by the system for crafting stories by selecting from ledes, nut grafs, quotes and more — though I found little reason to venture outside of the options that gave me the most readership and quality points. A bug halted my progression for more than a year, which was a major bummer, but I was excited to belatedly jump back in once it finally got patched. I was disappointed by the game's disjointedness — major threads like the end of the internship are built up without a conclusion, and major decisions like taking the ethical road and backstabbing Richard Gravity in a late-game story have absolutely no consequences (and wasn't even mentioned again by any character including Gravity himself). All that said, I really enjoyed my time with Times & Galaxy and would love to see more takes on this universe and format.
Kinda boring. I covered two stories, and even though there were some unexpected (or even amusing) elements each time, it didn't really entertain me. I didn't enjoy the gameplay much, I thought it would be more interactive/puzzle like, but you're basically interacting with everything you find, allowed to ask questions to each person once (and only once) per scene, and then assemble the info you found to build an article, trying to balance or maximize some metrics. Not much thinking involved, except in choosing the questions depending on your angle and to avoid closing the conversation too quickly. I thought it'd be an investigative game, where you piece clues together, but it's not.

I got this game for free from a gaming magazine and it was a surprisingly adorable narrative walking simulator/visual novel. The characters are original and funny, the world building with different planets and species was creative and entertaining. Very queer friendly game also, by the way. You do have the choice to wander around the ship every single day and talk to everybody, or go straight to the writing assignment. The level of detail is astounding - click on a simple poster every day, and every day there will be a different internal dialogue about the poster. Don't forget to check out the lunch menu on the cafeteria every time, it's hilarious! On the gameplay side, there is more to do as in a typical visual novel as you walk around, altho the influence of your dialogue choices or choices you make about writing an article are mainly on achievements, but not really on the game itself. You may flirt or "date" characters, but there is no gameplay related to that. You can't do anything wrong writing an article - you can just have a better or worse reputation as a reporter. As others have said before, the ending feels unsatisfying, but I assume there is some personal influence from the team which lead to this decision. I was reminded of the end of Fall Of Porcupine, only in a different profession of work (press instead of hospital). The full price of 20€ feels a bit much due to imho little replay value (watch out, achievements require several playthroughs, which I feel will not be worth it). If you like visual novels, fun outerspace worlds and a bit of a dialogue puzzle mechanic, this game is for you.
A cute game where you walk around a big spaceship and fly to planets to cover stories. I love the way the game approaches putting together a story, the writing is stellar, and the characters are enjoyable - both when they're super likeable and when they're super not-likeable. The flirting is very cute as an added bonus, regardless of who you go for! (I flirted with everyone without any negative repercussions.) I give it some minus points in the music - the background music while playing this is elevator music-levels of bland, which wouldn't be an issue except the game often doesn't give you anything else of interest to focus on either - and the movement feels slow and drawn-out. It's fine when on a new planet, because the space is limited, but on the spaceship I didn't like it - it's a big spaceship with a layout that has you doubling back to see every area, it takes forever to move through it. Plus there's an added slowness introduced in the game when walking up to a character and then just standing there waiting for their next speech bubble to appear (Watercoolerbot was fun, in their own way, but oof I had to just STAND THERE and WAIT to read what they had to say all the time...). I may be impatient! But both walking and waiting around, which was a major part of the game, I could have done without. Honestly to me this would have been better as a full Visual Novel without the added walking. Still, overall I really liked this, it felt like a game that was a homage both to journalism and constructing an article, and to Douglas Adams, known comedy sci-fi author. This hits the nail on the head with the sci-fi comedy and I do really appreciate that! If you love some sci-fi comedy, this is a must! I encountered some bugs, but nothing that couldn't be fixed by a restart, and played on Steamdeck.
not interesting or fun. probably made for some dumb government grant. concerns itself with silly identity politics. stories are all banal fluff.
Petit jeu mignon et détente ! J'adore le générique !
