I love the new spin on retro on the rail shooters it has plenty of upgrades and level ups and again that final boss was challenging definitely recommend. The story is simple, but at least it has a story and cute cat characters. It's probably one of the more unique recent releases and it's free to play.

I have to warn you it is not for everyone. It is very difficult, nearly impossible but addictive. You will know that most probably you will never reach to the end yet you will play it for hours. You will criticize me for typing this review after playing just 25 minutes, but you will never know how many times i started to play from beginning in so short amount of time... until you play it! [h2]They came from another planet[/h2] Is not "a" game actually! It is a combination of classics. It is space invaders, arkanoid, asteroid, buster bros... and many others harmonized with classic shoot'em up! It is formed of lots of "same old ideas" and evolved to something very colorful and unique. Yes you played all of these before but no you had never experienced something like that! [h2]Story[/h2] The commander Cat calls you to the duty. We are under invasion. They came from another planet. But rest of the story is only about you and discovering that deep inside how masochistic you are! [h2]Gameplay[/h2] It is standard. You have to just use arrow-pad [b]and[/b] WASD... Be careful I didn't say [b]or[/b]. Left arrow doesn't take you to left and WASD will never take you to right. You will have to go through the hell in order to get used to use both of your hands and both sides of the keyboard with same efficiency... And you will never get what I mean before you play it! Yes! you are just a flying, smiling and a very cute blue cat, who can fire from its pointy ears. Just you can go left, go right, expand, shrink and fire. So simple! What can be so different and difficult? Right? You are more than welcome to try!... And no multi ups... Once you die, you enter your name for the leaderboard and you start all over again... Just like the sweet old times. [h2]Soundtracks[/h2] Well if you stop and listen, you will find them quite nice and suitable to the atmosphere of the gameplay... but you will never notice them during the gameplay. [h2]Graphics[/h2] Simple and colorful. Yet you will find lots of funny things in details. Just try to watch the mimics of the cat... when you cat get used to the controls of course... if you ever will... [h2]Conclusion[/h2] Doesn't matter which type, if you are a gamer, it will drive you mad and make you laugh at the same time and definitely it will worth every penny that you will pay. But if you are lookin for somethin easy to play, this game is not for you.

A mix of scroller shooter and breakout. Pretty fun game but screen flash could use some adjustments.

[b]UPDATE APRIL 2025[/b] - Surprisingly the game received a patch that addressed most of the issues I was talking about! Now playing it with the controller makes it much less cumbersome (also there's some nice feedback in certain moments), there are achievements and an actual leaderboard so you feel inclined to play it as intended and not just to survive, and there's little touches like the mini-game during the end credits. Nothing earth-shattering but it's still a big improvement, so I'm definitely giving it a positive score. This game could be a really nice cute-em-up with sweet graphics, sweet soundtrack, a nice concept and some clever ideas. But the terrible control scheme ruins everything and makes it unnecessarily awkward and convoluted. Being able to restart from every stage and boss after death does not change much in that regard. Another concept that could have been better is the risk/reward bonus-grabbing mechanic: as an arcade-style title it makes sense but, since there's no online leaderboards or achievements, there's no point in reaching a high score and thus risk to lose power-ups and life just to grab a few more stars (also, does leveling up even do anything?). Speaking of power-ups, it's also strangely stingy with them: in 3 hours of gameplay I found missiles once and lasers 2 or 3 times, just to make everything even more tedious with the basic shot. This can become a good game that can be sold but it seriously needs better balancement.
