I may not have hundreds of hours in this game, but I still put a lot of time, effort, and dedication into learning its mechanics, patience, and the level of realism that you just can't find in today's oversimplified games. And what is Expansive Worlds doing? They are going to shut down the servers in a few months without even providing an offline mode. All the time that players spent mastering this game is being thrown straight into the trash. You blocked the ability to buy em$, threw in some end-of-life discounts, and you think that fixes everything? This is a massive slap in the face to the community that kept this title alive for years. TheHunter Classic had a soul, and this decision makes it feel like the developers no longer care about the players who supported this game for years. Your newer Call of the Wild doesn't even come close to Classic. You are destroying a legendary game. Huge dislike.
Really gotta stop killing games tbh could always make it an offline experience or make the source code public and someone will pick it up. If you think this will make players go over to COTW you're dead wrong anyone who actually enjoys hunting won't go over to a sloppy arcade game where all the animals spawn right infront of you that you'll just run and gun. This game was by far the best hunting game on the market. Some of you'll just say "what about way of the hunter???" and my answer to that is: Is it The Hunter Classic NO, it's not. This all comes down to greedy executives and their profit margins. Effectively cucking the devs who have worked on this game for YEARS. If they shut the game down (Which they likely will do) It just goes to show how greedy they are and with no regards to their playerbase who've supported them and this game for years. So remember kids corporations only sees us as cash cows waiting to be milked and when the money starts to falter they just pull the plug. Their whole model isn't player satisfaction it's how much profit they walk away with. ITS NOT RECOMMENDED THAT YOU PLAY THIS GAME NOW SINCE IT WILL SHUT DOWN IN NOVEMBER LATER THIS YEAR
The most horrendous signup-login UI imaginable how hard is it to update that instead of adding pointless updates i'm not even going to waste my time spending 40 minutes trying to figure it out game is probably ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anyway
Just so done with EW they just always make the wrong decisions they just gonna delete my account which i have spent at least 500$ and all the time and money i spent is gonna be deleted. i will never buy anything from this company ever again.
One of my favorite games to watch and play and they are killing it. i cant even play on my new pc because the sign up is abandonware. i will no longer be supporting any expansive worlds releases and am uninstalling cotw I am truly disappointed in expansive worlds
amazing game, ♥♥♥♥ company. I've sunk hundreds of hours of my time and money (upwards of £365 GBP) into this game and enjoyed it the whole time. from amazing interactive seasonal events to unique maps and species this game was amazing. key word here is WAS. heartbreakingly the developers are fully cutting support in early November meaning that nearly 18 years of this games history and every single purchase and achievement wont be accessible as they are deleting all accounts and shutting down the servers (including offline single player) this leads to the question what happens to call of the wild with its DLCs when that game gets old??
Absolutely horrible that they're just shutting this down and straight out of the blue too, Spent almost 550 hours on Classic and enjoyed every single hour. I started when the game became free and really kicked it off during the post pandemic years. Graphics are old and worn but the gameplay is still fantastic. It's clearly a very executive decision to end this game probably taken from the absolute top. I didn't care that much about stop killing games but I certianly do now and fully support that initative, it is strange that companies are allowed to premanently delete products people have spent both money and time on, especially money. Shameless decision from the top, I hope the best for the community, it's Community managers and the poor developers who spent time and effort making Classic for it just to disappear. Call of the wild is not a worthy substitut. I hope the decision is reversed but that will likely only be a dream.
game and servers will be dead as of November 11th With how unique some of the systems in this game are(the non-typicals are something no other hunting game has) seeing it become an unplayable game is really upsetting. BTW they didn't discount the in game currency only paid currency, so you can't even enjoy the final few months freely. sorry to those who spent hundreds on this game.
