The Unfamiliars

I feel that this game does some things very well, the most evident being the atmosphere. It all more or less takes in one place, but whats there works quite well in terms of building suspense. That said, there were a couple of times where I felt somewhat lost in terms of what I was suppose to do and it also didn't help that the cursor indicating that you close to something you should be interacting with is quite small. The jumpscares are decent (one or two of them made me jolt back), but that said I do prefer when the game focuses more on keeping an eerie vibe instead of surprising you with loud scares (not that I am completely opposed to jumpscares as a concept). Either way, with all the rambling out the way, do I recommend the game? Yes, I do. For the low price I feel that it's definitely worth your time. That said, there's always room for improvements. I also wouldn't mind seeing the developer tackling a bigger and longer project at some point in the future.

Yet another horror game that’s just trash. There are so many of these now, as numerous as grains of sand on the beach, and the number keeps growing. I played the game for almost 45 minutes and never made it past the first task (exploring the house, reading notes). At first, I tried for about 20 minutes, searching and examining everything 10 times, but I couldn’t get any further. Then I watched a video about the game where it was clearly shown that the distress signal appeared on the TV after checking all the items I’d already looked at 10 times. So I reloaded the game and tried again. No luck. Then I read in the Steam reviews that someone else had the same problem and that it worked after restarting the game. So I restarted the game and tried again, for about 10 minutes, and again, I couldn’t get any further. After that, I’d had enough, quit the game, and requested a refund. The game is very simple, which makes you wonder how such a simple game can still have such serious flaws. Stay away from it and don’t buy this junk. It’s not even worth the €4.15 it currently costs.
