Good game underrated
Довольно таки норм, но камера не удобная
Incredibly janky, even for free-to-play. We were already commiserating how bad it was when we found a weapon that said, "It was used to kill women," and were like, "Yeah, no, I'm out."

**Review of "The Summon"** "The Summon" is a captivating indie game that masterfully intertwines themes of magic, sacrifice, and the human experience. Set in a beautifully crafted open world, players assume the role of a young summoner tasked with discovering their powers while navigating through treacherous landscapes filled with mythical creatures. The visuals are absolutely stunning, with hand-painted backgrounds that breathe life into every corner of the world. The artistry evokes a sense of wonder that draws players in from the very first moment. As players explore the environment, they encounter various quests that challenge both their strategic thinking and emotional resilience. Each character you meet has their own story to tell, often revolving around loss and the beauty of death. Death, a frequent motif within the game, is portrayed not only as an end but as a profound transformation, a passage to something greater. Through this lens, players are encouraged to reflect on the fleeting nature of life, making every failure and success resonate deeply. The summoning mechanics are where "The Summon" truly shines. Players can call forth creatures that assist in battles, each one uniquely designed with its own backstory and abilities. The bond formed between the summoner and their allies often brings a sense of melancholy, especially when confronting the inevitability of mortality. Just as death can be seen as a release, the sacrifices made during summoning give a poignant reminder of what it means to love, lose, and carry on. A standout feature is the soundtrack, which perfectly complements the game’s ethereal ambiance. Composed of haunting melodies and soft harmonies, the music serves as a constant reminder of the beauty found in both life and death. It encapsulates the feeling of walking through a dream where every note bleeds emotion. In moments of hardship, the haunting echoes of the music provide solace, inviting players to accept the fragility of existence. Alongside the main quest, numerous side missions delve into darker themes, allowing players to explore the depths of despair. These narratives highlight how death can bring both pain and peace, as characters grapple with their own fates. Each story serves to remind us that every end carries the seeds of new beginnings, echoing the sentiment that even in the darkest times, there is beauty to be found. It draws players into understanding souls beyond their surface, enticing empathy and reflection. Combat in "The Summon" is engaging and dynamic. Players must strategize and adapt their tactics based on the creatures they summon and the enemies they face. The beauty of death becomes a critical gameplay element, as defeating foes often means absorbing their strength, further emphasizing the cycle of life and death. This mechanic ingeniously mirrors the game’s overall theme, as progress often comes at a cost. The writing in "The Summon" deserves special mention as well. The dialogue is thoughtfully crafted, with philosophical musings on mortality woven throughout. Phrases contemplating the finality of life and the existence of an afterlife punctuate conversations, leaving players with lingering questions about their own beliefs. It beautifully articulates the duality of existence, embracing the notion that with every end, there’s a chance for transformation and rebirth. Visually, "The Summon" employs a rich color palette that shifts with the emotional tone of the narrative. During moments of struggle, the hues deepen, casting shadows that symbolize the weight of loss. Conversely, in moments of joy or discovery, the world lights up with colors that sing of life. This artistic choice reinforces the connection between the visuals and the overarching themes of beauty intertwined with death. While "The Summon" excels at most levels, it isn't without its minor flaws. Some players might find certain pacing issues within the story arcs. However, the emotional depth and the evocative beauty of death presented in the narrative more than compensate for these shortcomings. Their ability to provoke thought and introspection is where the game truly excels, creating an experience that resonates long after the screen goes dark. In conclusion, "The Summon" is a testament to the artistic potential of video games. It elegantly blends mechanics, storytelling, and visuals to create a tapestry of experiences that engage the player on multiple levels. Embracing themes of magic alongside the profound beauty of death, it invites players to explore the life cycle through both joy and sorrow. Whether you're drawn to action, narrative, or simply the aesthetics of a beautifully rendered world, "The Summon" is an unforgettable journey worth taking. Don't shy away from the emotions it invokes; instead, let them wash over you. In embracing these experiences, we can come to appreciate the intricate dance of life and the beauty found within the realm of death.
Played this with my brother for a few hours and it was pretty fun! There wasn't much to do after that, but I'm looking forward to updates.
Fun game, I am definitely going to keep playing and I cant wait to see how it grows! I need help with the Barrel guy I want to know the secret ;-;
Lets be clear, this game is straight ass. Horrible mid-endgame scaling, buggy and unfinished, very little build diversity, ect. HOWEVER This is one of the most charming games I've ever played. Running in circles getting chased by braindead enemies while your friends try to save your ass is so much fun. The early game progression(before you realize what a monster the game is on the inside) is a blast. The NPCs all speak mumbo jumbo and its so much fun. The controls are wonky, but you get used to them. Have fun and don't take things too seriously. Give it a try and don't take it too seriously. Play through the main game(maybe 4 hours if you don't grind for the hell of it) and break the game in survival before it breaks you right back.
