The spy who shot me™

It's ok. Buy it on sale. It's rather basic and only took me about 3 hours to beat, but I had enough fun with it that I replayed to get all the achievements. Despite the obvious influence from Golden Eye you won't be using any gadgets and although a stealthy option is implied with silencer modes and throwing knives it isn't really viable with the AI awareness and level design generally, nor is it necessary. This is a short simple straight forward shooter with some optional objectives and collectables. It's not great, but I do still recommend it for its style, charm, and ambition. The voice acting and art direction is good, the music is nice, and the humour works well even if the overall story isn't very compelling. This game could just really use more. Greater enemy variety, some degree of tactical consideration, unlockables. The greatest mark against it however is its lack of even the most basic game options that are the standard expectation for any modern game. All you get are screen resolution and full screen, that's it. No key binds, field of view, subtitles, mouse/joystick inversion, nothing. The game was pretty much made by one person and so it seems they just weren't able to do everything they wanted or perhaps extensively playtest. You pick up money but there's no way to spend it, bringing up the menu in game doesn't pause, you can easily skip a section on the docks level by jumping over the boxes that are supposed to block your way without needing to use the crane to move them. When you encounter these things it can feel unfinished, it's flawed, but I do like it. Overall it left me wanting, but in a hopeful way where I wish for updates or even a sequel. I enjoyed my time enough and for $1.55 on a 90% off sale I'd say it was definitely worth it.
