Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Jul 23 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Maybe I've just got a ♥♥♥♥ attention span or something. I thought the visuals and the art style were really cool, I liked the characters for the most part as well. Maybe visual novels seriously just aren't for me. I really liked the style of the menus, the case select, the save files with the ram sticks, the different backgrounds depending on which case you're currently in. I think I really only played this because I didn't want to feel like a complete bumbling moron trying to play F.S.R and be like "I have no idea who the ♥♥♥♥ this is." like 8 times. It was a pretty neat story I think. I don't really wanna slog through it again for the rest of the achievements but I probably will again at some point. I kinda wished there were more puzzles, I love Tokio Morishima to death but the gameplay was sorta just getting outta bed, check your email and the turtle, sleep, repeat. It's only redeemed by how good and the minor variations are. Also that tower segment that was essentially going "oo! piece of candy!" while you check different rooms for post-it notes of information and dead guys pissed me off. I don't regret playing it though. 7.6/10 Edit: Getting those achievements sucked ass!

The Spectrum/HANA scenarios are underrated.

At its core, The Silver Case is a mechanically-sparse and text heavy detective-themed visual novel and while it's also SUDA51 at his most restrained, there's an undeniable pull in the writing, style, and presentation that kept me amused all the way throughout. Following a rookie detective through a series of cases and an overarching serial killer mystery, the narrative and general writing definitely trends into different detective subgenres and tropes at different times. Be it thrillers, hardboiled noirs, government conspiracies, and even the supernatural. Surprisingly it all works pretty well even with all that weaving around, especially as it still recognizably has that little punk flair that SUDA51 has since been known for. Also as a whole, I applaud its daring sense of style in its presentation, especially considering this was originally released for the PlayStation in 1999. I'm not just referring to its mixed use of media like 3D graphics and FMV, but also how they'll change UI layouts and color palettes, from cluttering the background with text to locking the text speed. I'm surprised how it all really added to the experience, even if they may read like not so big changes. For anyone that's a fan of SUDA51's modern work, The Silver Case may be surprisingly tame for what you may usually expect, but I cannot deny how much it slowly drew me in by writing alone. I definitely recommend this for anyone in the detective reading mood, especially if you want to be thrusted into a dark crime-filled world that feels more like a lived-in universe and beyond just a simple video game. Also for those jumping in, note that you should definitely play the associated Placebo case immediately after each Transmitter case as they're both tied to the same events and can even provide more perspective on each other.
A mind-boggling detective crime novel about one man and needing people spot him ¥50,000.
