The Rocky Horror Show Video Game

If you love the Rocky Horror Show and Retro games, this game is absolutely for you. It's a simplistic action platformer that offers enough challenge, but doesn't make you want to pull your hair out. The sprites and areas are colorful and well designed. The real beauty of this game is the audio. 8-bit versions of all the songs from Rocky Horror so well done. I especially love the opening song which is kind of crossed with Science Fiction, Double Feature, and the opening to the Legend of Zelda theme. The big con for me on the game was that there is really no replayability. Pretty much once you beat the game once, you never really need to again. To my knowledge and understanding, there are no hidden areas, pathways, endings, etc. It's really kind of a one and done. That being said, I had a great time and absolutely think it's worth the money. I take out system limitations as I play alot of retro games normally. I just appreciate (or not) the visuals for what they were for the time period they came out, or for what they were trying to accomplish. Atmosphere - Story, World, etc. How well does the game keep me tuned into it. I stream most games so how easily am I distracted from it has alot of effect as well. Audio - Music and Sound Effects. I feel like this is an easy one. Like visuals, I try to appreciate them for the time period. Gameplay - How does it control? Are there too many buttons? Too few? Also, how difficult is the game? Does it ramp up too hard? Fun - FUN FACTOR! How much fun did I have with the game and would I play through it again? Is there reasons to play through it again?

If you are a fan of the Movie/Play and a fan of old school video games this game is pretty fun. Its short and not too difficult. I wish there was an option to skip the cut scenes and a few of the rooms were a little frustrating, but over all a decent game.

Not perfect but many of its flaws (like the fact 50% of the game just recycles old levels) get excused due to the kind of retro shovelware this is clearly trying to emulate. Its at least better than the old "Rocky Interactive Horror Show" *shudder*... tho that ones later iteration DID have FMVS featuring Richard Obrien... Oh well. My fav part of 100%ing this was using the fireballs to launch myself up to the crystal in the lab. Absolute kino! This game will do nicely while we wait for any sort of adaptaion of Revenge Of The Old Queen (like thats ever going to happen). I should also note that the sequel graphic novel "Bride Of Rocky Horror" is releasing alongside this game so... thats naiceee. Maybe we might get a Shock Treatment game next?? (fingers crossed.)

Being an avid fan of The Rocky Horror Show, and being an absolute Broadway geek, I had an absolute blast playing this game. I loved the different retro game references that were made throughout the game during my first play-through. Despite some moments where I had gotten stuck - parts where I kept getting killed to be exact - I still very much enjoyed this game. In fact, I managed to complete the game on my first run in one night, only stopping halfway to get on VRChat. With the Plus version, I absolutely died laughing at the speech bubbles that appeared during some points of the dialogue, reminiscent of what would occur during a midnight screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, though I've never attended a screening (I want to so badly). The Rocky Horror Picture Show remains a tradition for me, as I would watch it every Halloween. This was an fun game to add to my library and I would absolutely recommend playing it.

Great music, but generic platforming. Beat the entire game in only 90 minutes...

the most fun i had playing a retro style game. love that's it's only 2 hours long for both main game and new game plus. the only part they should of done was give a new level for Janet where she has a second chance to get hit sort of similar to dr scott's levels other then that it was a great game to play
