Fun puzzles meet Final Fantasy Tactics with an excellent soundtrack. Thinking through the maneuvers with the gradual skill building strikes a proper balance of difficult and also the "Aha!" moment when it all just clicks. The undo feature is very useful so you don't "concede" to your enemies of old without really wanting to. Would recommend for the length of sessions and the vibes of the map tunes.
Much like the isometric tactical RPGs that this game takes inspiration from, The Puzzle Maker: Cebba’s Odyssey stuffs a lot of deep gameplay into a small package. Learning all the ways the different pieces interact provides a lot of fun scenarios and the learning curve is fun but challenging. Every few levels I’d think I’d have the hang of it, then get stuck on a tricky puzzle that’d take me a few tries to master. Meanwhile, the retro pixel art and animations are charming and well-executed, making playing the game a fun and immersive experience. Very excited to see what Arcaneworks comes out with next!

Though challenging, I find this game is really relaxing to play and wind down with in the evenings. It's weirdly addictive and I keep finding myself saying 'just one more level' over and over again. Delightfully nostalgic and just difficult enough for my liking - highly recommend!
Fun game! The puzzles are challenging and the difficulty scales nicely. The art and music are great! Really satisfying when you finally figure out a level you've been stuck on for a while.
A great puzzle game with FF tactics aesthetics and a nice soundtrack. It starts off feeling simple, but once other characters, creatures, and objects join the fight you quickly realize there's a challenge here. The controls are easy, I think I would play this a lot on mobile. Finishing a puzzle is satisfying and it's worth a play. I'm not much of a creative type but I could see some seriously unique player built puzzles. It might require some more updates over time to accommodate people's ideas, but it seems like all the pieces are there for some good community involvement!
This game strikes the perfect balance between challenge and relaxation, making it an easy go-to. I can’t help but get drawn into its puzzles and world, often telling myself ‘just one more try.’ Full of retro charm and a satisfying level of difficulty, it keeps me coming back for more. Definitely worth a try!
Got a tip from friends to try this hiddden gem, and cant stop playing since. Dificulty is just to make you feel like a genious, but not getting stuck for to long. Keeps you hooked by frequently adding new mechanics, though simple enough to not overhelm you. Add a nice little story on top and you get a satisfiing, fun to play puzzle game. Definetly would recomend
I highly recommend this game as it masterfully adheres to the fundamental principle of allowing one movement per character, determined by the type of action, such as pushing or moving. Simply idea, executed well. The Puzzle Maker is what it is - puzzles. Its all about learning to use your pieces as best as you can to complete the level. The combat is minimal and a bit of flavour. Works well on Steam Deck. (one small issue to improve performance would be to creator map boundaries, as it is possible to navigate your cursor off the map forever... and it will take forever to come back). Played at default @ 60fps on 5 watts. More Steam Deck reviews here: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43052238-Ideal-for-Deck/
