Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 11 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The Promise Tree of Alden is a short, atmospheric narrative experience about remorse, memory, and the silence of a forest once alive.
You play as Alden — a man burdened by the past, haunted by what he surrendered: his home among the trees.
Most of the journey unfolds as a contemplative walking experience, where every step deepens the bond between man and nature. Yet, at times, you’ll ascend into the mist — soaring among ethereal orbs that drift through the air. These fragile lights aren’t always easy to find, turning your search into a quiet challenge of discovery and perception.
Breathe in the lingering fog of what once was. Let the forest tell its story — not through words, but through light, sound, and stillness. The Promise Tree of Alden is a brief but heartfelt passage through loss, memory, and the faint glow of redemption.
PS: The core aspect of this game is the atmosphere. It is recommended for those who mostly seek to experience the mood.

Great short experience with amazing graphics and beautiful music.
Atmospheric, somewhat repetitive, and leaning into that symbolic walking sim story style, but for me it was hard to connect emotionally. It feels like it's trying to be deep and poetic through fragments, strange imagery and vague mystery, rather than giving you a story that actually grabs you. Which is a shame, because the whole experience has a great potential. In a weird way, instead of getting the emotional weight of the narrative, it feels like you're being given the short text version. The one your nana sends you, cause she doesn't know how to text. The weird little jumping lights, odd voices, and the main character often sounding like a mildly distressed Christopher Walken with that unnatural stop-start delivery, completely throttled my interest at times. It did make me laugh. Which, I'm fairly certain wasn't the intended emotional response. Overall, not bad if you like artsy, abstract games, but if you don't want to spend your time guessing someone else's symbolism without enough actual story to bite into, this probably won't land for you.

Excellent! Amazing! Spectacular! 平静、短小的一款游戏,一边走一边惊叹于场景的细腻、氛围的宁静。而且优化也做得不错,我的电脑配置不怎么高,但是画面呈现效果就好像高端显示器。非常推荐喜欢步行模拟的玩家体验
It is that same familiar Bodur production - going through the woods to make the amends with oneself and find acceptance and relief for the grief. Okay, I don't say that there is something fishy in that, but when it seems that it is fairly frequent subject in game franchise I feel a little bit bloaded. I am more into the games which take more surreal approach and I totally loved Drizzlepath: Picturae, which sound desing was btw marvelous and moreover especially Lucid Cycle which kept surprising their players throughout the game. Tree of Alden however feels warm, but flat experience with straightfort gameplay without any new tricks in sleeve, except few good visuals that may offer some inspiration for the players who love to take screenshots. All in all nice, but not so unforgettable tale.
The Promise Tree of Alden

Positives:
+ Gorgeous graphics + Fantastic sounds + Beautiful music + The awesome atmosphere (expect goosebumps) + Very relaxing and healing + Good voiceover + Very beautiful landscapes and scenery + The sculptures, buildings, bridges and wildlife + The black/white filter combined with some coloring (I loved the red flowers!) + Very nice artistic look + Small puzzle in the end (more of that please!) + Achievements + FOV adjuster + No footstep sounds + Chapter selection
Negatives:
- A lot of invisible walls (Why? I want to explore more of the beautiful scenery) - The game sometimes try to decide the speed you walk (I can handle that myself) - The "search for orbs in the air" parts are not my favourite (with a loud annoying sound and very small steps forward) - The fog is too heavy (making it hard to see all the beautiful scenery clearly) - Quite unnatural endings to chapters, where you midwalk just fade into black and start a new chapter - Extremely taxing on the computer - Its very short (all over in about an hour)
Conclusion:
This is what I want to see from TB; gorgeous atmospheric walking simulators. And you guessed it, this is one of them, if you got the computing power to run it properly. My God you are in for a beautiful experience in the fantastic scenery TB created. Its awesome in so many ways, so no need to read any further, go ahead and see it for yourself. Highly recommended!
Total Score: 8/10
PS: Please remove the loud orb flying sound. It takes away some of the otherwise fantastic atmosphere. And ease the fog a little, so we better can see and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Otherwise well done TB, beautiful work!
The atmosphere and narration are really well done, and environments look beautiful. It’s a walking-simulator that focuses more on narrative and experience than "gameplay" so if you're looking for puzzles and stuff, this isn't for you. My only small issue was performance, on lower-end PCs it could probably be a bit more optimized to run smoother. But that said, the settings menu does give you a lot of options to tweak things to make it run better for your pc. I personally enjoyed it, its a short and a relaxing experience that’s really worth checking out!!
Brillaint game. Loved this game. Has to be one of my favorite games now by this developer. No puzzles, just a relaxing walk listening to a story. The atmosphere was amazing, the backdrops were just amazing to look at. While walking through the backdrops I was wondering to myelf "I bet this would look great in VR". I set music to "Non Copyright" and it really made the game better. opera type tracks all the wya through. Each musicp piece was just amazing. The only thing I didnt like was jumping through the air through the orbs, I felt like it it didn't fit into the game and took me out of the immersion of walking, at lesat it had voiceover with it. I took my time enjoying the sights and backdrops, walked most of it rather than run, and it took me 1 hour 5 minutes. I felt sad when they said "They bulldozed The Promise Tree", I watched as the birds flew overhead. An amazing game. It seems like this developer had his brother or cousin work with him on this game as can be seen in the credits. 9/10 overall rating for this game. Relaxing, no stress, no uzzles, just a nice relaxing walk through the forest listning to nature and the story voiceover. If you like walking sim games I highly recommend getting this game, but wait for a sale as it only takes an hour to finish and 100% the achievements. The Achievements are easy to dp "being chapter 1" "begin chapter 2". Great game, get it who;e on sale.
