About
On the barren island of Nuraga, you're stranded in the desert with your Grandpa. Your bull died of exhaustion, and Grandpa is too tired to march. Luckily, you've found shelter in ancient ruins where Grandpa can rest and you can look for food beneath the sand.
But when instead of desert potatoes you dig up ancient relics, Grandpa starts acting strange. He pushes you to dig deeper and deeper, heedless of the eerie atmosphere that permeates the ruins and the mysterious events happening around you.
The Old Flesh of Nuraga is a short narrative psychological horror game with treasure-hunting, branching dialogues, and multiple endings.
Use a divinatory bell to reveal hidden objects beneath the sand. Its ringing shows you where to search. Once you've found something, clean it of dirt, but be careful not to damage it.
Many items await you. Some are mundane, like a potato; others are cursed relics of a forgotten age; a few are alive. But all of them will change your fate, for better or worse.
Your Grandpa is the only family you have left after the death of your parents. He raised you with love, but he is getting old and frail.
Grandpa lived a long life. He made mistakes. He has regrets. He hides secrets. In the midst of the seeping madness, you may discover sides of him you've never imagined. Will you stay with him nevertheless? Or leave him with his sins to rot under the sun?
Nuraga is an ancient land with a long history, most of which has been forgotten. Legends survive, but they are only pale reflections of more sinister truths.
A cohort of characters lurk among the ruins: a Tomb Raider, a Warrior, a Mother, a Demon, and many others. Depending on your choices, you may or may not find them. Witness their decay and shape their final moments.

The game really shines in making you need to think about who to trust. Its a nice bite-sized, original story that doesn't overstay its welcome. Cool worldbuilding and lore. If you played any of this dev's other games and liked them you will probably like this one too. check out my playthrough here: https://youtu.be/ZDsUjf5td3w
A perfectly fun experience for the price, sitting in the 2-3 hour range for full completion with all endings if you're one who strives for such things. Interesting story with just enough intrigue to educate you on the world of the game without bogging you down with excessive amounts of set dressing and LORE. The game (at the time of writing) has some minor issues here and there: My biggest grievance is sound balancing. As a headphone user, pretty much ALL of the sound effects beyond the general ambience and speech noises are likely to blow your eardrums out. The only option for audio control seems to be a master volume slider, which isn't gonna save you from the bombardment of noises once they decide to come out and play. So you either settle for quiet overall gameplay with tolerable sound effects, or really get into those dusty desert winds and come out with some tinnitus based ringing by the end. For less egregious issues: Do you like digging up infinite pottery pieces that can only be addressed by quitting out of the game and restarting? Might be another form of purgatory inflicted by Tor himself. (This is an issue with the save system that has been acknowledged and will likely be addressed in a future patch. But for now, you can get a free digging simulator with the bonus of desert based ambiance) How about the fact that being a gluttonous, greedy daughter and taking the soup for yourself doesn't actually mean anything, because everything acts as if you force fed your grandfather the slop anyway? Maybe the soup really meant nothing at all, in the end. (Feeding yourself never seems to have been accounted for in game logic. It's not gonna shatter your experience, but it certainly caught my attention enough to remark on it) tl;dr Game is fine for the price and one I'd recommend, but it currently comes with some minor friction here and there that could influence feelings of the overall experience. Another good addition to the devs' repertoire of spooky games.

This game came out of nowhere for me, I got around to playing the demo earlier today, realized I wanted to buy it just a few minutes into that, and found out it dropped at an extremely reasonable price. Boy, was it worth it. Old Flesh of Nuraga is beautiful, it has a lofi style, does a lot with a little, and the sound design is absolutely brilliant. The story is heartbreaking* and expansive in scope, especially for such a short game. The central mechanics are simple and used to tell the story to great effect; all you do is locate an item, dig it up and dust it off, then take it to someone who will tell you where to put it. All-in-all, feels like a finished, polished horror video game, I'm looking forward to playing it again and seeing more of what it has to offer! *There's a warning at the start that the story deals with taking care of the infirm, and those whom are in a way to be affected by such material should steer clear. Thought I should mention that in the review so folks can buy accordingly; the demo didn't have that warning so the only way to get it is to buy the game. I guess then you would refund it, but if you're reading this you can save yourself the trouble.*

The Old Flesh of Nuraga è la terza fatica di Studio Ortica dopo Loan Shark e Birds Watching, e si conferma pienamente all'altezza dell'eredità dei suoi predecessori.
I miss my granpa :( For real though, 9/10 game. Chilling af, touching, and fun. The atmosphere is incredible and, dare I say, iconic. Absolutely worth the price.
Game is broken. First thing you need to do is find a potato with a divining bell. I dug everywhere the bell said for 25 minutes and found no potato. Had no issue with this in the demo
Coolest sky I've ever seen in a game
Intriguing little horror game with a fascinating premise and engaging mechanics. Well worth the time and money spent.
