JUEGAZO 😎👍💛🌟
this game is great. its short but the gameplay is solid, with simple controls and the scenery is beautiful. Highly recommend everyone gives this game a try.
Super short but very fun and engaging. I found the tutorial to be much more engaging than a lot of games I've played where it will just be something i don't want to read and just spam through, and somehow I've never played a game that tackled it in this way, so that was super creative and helpful for me! I did read that this was a student project, so i just want to say well done to the people who worked on this for your project, i hope you got a good grade haha, it was very fun! 10/10!
"The Odyssey of the Mammoth" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from UQAT in Quebec, Canada. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. This a kind of mini-game ripoff of Shelter, you're a mammoth being attacked by humans and you need to look after your calf or the humans will get it. That's way too emotionally wrenching for me, also why I never played Shelter much either. I didn't come to Steam for the feels. Anyway the graphics look great, but the game itself is a buggy mess and poorly optimised... well, that's the problem with student projects. They're not made to be real games for gamers. The graphics in this game are really quite good, which at least makes the game look more appealing. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. It would be unethical for students to try charge money for their homework assignments, so you don't have to pay any money for this. But you'd still have to spend your time downloading this, and "time is money", as they say. So much for the matter of pricing. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's well over 130 million gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at less than 100 concurrent players, they couldn't even break three figures, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
This a short hidden game, can be completed in less than an hour. Lil' Frankie and mommoth are adorable, with genuine touch of historical retreat of the old giant wolly mammoth into the secluded island. The only complain is this game is still buggy. Movement are somewhat clunky. And its *impossible* to 100% due to broken achievement 7/10 Recommended for you casual out there.
Really fun and enjoyable. It’s simple, smooth, and entertaining, with great gameplay and good vibes all around. Addictive and satisfying, I keep coming back for more. Overall, a solid game that’s fun, relaxing, and has just the right amount of challenge.
Красивая, но не совсем внятная по вторичному сюжету, игра.
Nice action adventure with an educational angle.
Finished the game. The combat is shallow, and it clearly wants to be Journey, but all that could be forgiven if they didn't make the choice to have the awfully written narrator. You can turn him off, but what does that leave? Pretty pictures, what you can get from the trailer.
