Good game. The dev is handsome too.

Game does not work. It crashes on start-up. Reached out but got no reply. Don't recommend.

I was really won over by The List. It's been on my steam wishlist forever-- its looks like and is priced like a pretty low-rent Her Story, and that of course is kind of true. It is the exact same gameplay, and you are again rooting through clips of a police interrogation. The inspiration is obvious. But I love Her Story, and I figured I could definitely have fun with more of the same. So you're poking around in clips, writing down keywords in a notebook to throw at the database, and slowly learning about the sole character of the game. He's so-so as an actor, but he's doing his best with the difficult task of having an exclusively one sided conversation, and like most other low budget FMV games, I find it very charming. There's a couple of big, capital letter Reveals that I won't spoil, except to say that I loved them. A game like this kind of lives or dies on how satisfying the turn is, and it's such a wild swing that even though I had been on guard looking for "what's really going on here" from the beginning I was really unprepared for it. A few discoveries happened as a result of some curious googling in another window which was also very fun. It did a lot to make me feel like I was a proper detective doing the big work. I finished in about 4 hours. It doesn't have the production value of some Sam Barlow games, but for only six bucks on steam, it punches above its weight and had me grinning at the end.

Very interesting take on the Her Story/Telling Lies genre. I breezed through it and found the story interesting. Being not from the Holy land known as the United States, I obviously did not complete the random trivia question of an ending they picked without looking it up myself. But without spoiling much, if that answer was put anywhere in the videos as a hint keyword I'd be able to figure it out, but left confused and a bit like "how was I meant to figure that out?!". Also who gets interviewed 5 days in a row lol.

Well, I loved it, but I'm not entirely confident that I fully understood it. The game is enjoyable and immersive, and it was easy to get into it. Figuring out the password for the email nearly drove me insane as I figured out the source/background early on but not the specific password. Finding the second password/code was pretty easy after that. I did struggle with accessing the final needed clip. The list is a tip. I enjoyed it a lot. I'll probably play it again, but honestly, part of the story/narrative flew over my head, and I didn't fully understand the game until after a bit. The list, some misinformation given by the main character and subtle clues and insight into the main character's personality hint at what is going on. But it all took me a minute. Overall, I liked it.

It's OK but Herstory it is not. The actor is fine but he doesn't have the charisma and skill of the Herstory actor. The same could be said for the script.

My main problem with this game is that you have to know American History to get to the end, and still... It is very complicated. For me it didn't really make sense. I was expecting some great plot like Her Story, but I got disappointed. Well, I didn't have a good experience with this game, but I like this style of Her Story and Telling Lies and I hope we get more games like this!
