The Legacy

The Legacy is a cooperative survival game in the horror genre.

In 1990, a curse fell upon our hometown. Our grandfather — a local molfar and magician — according to a sinister tradition, once every 66 years, was supposed to sacrifice one of his descendants to the dark forest forces. But he couldn’t do it. Instead, he sent me, my two brothers, and my sister to Kyiv to protect us from the curse. He saved our lives but doomed the city and its surroundings to death and destruction...

Years passed. We became adults and built our own lives, but the memory of Svetlograd tormented our hearts. During one family dinner, we made a decision: to return there and end the darkness forever, to free the city and give people the chance to live again. Each of us has unique skills, strengths, and weaknesses — together, we complement each other perfectly. Having gathered some equipment, we went there... to face our destiny.

Survival

In The Legacy, there is a detailed survival system. Your character needs food and water, while the cold autumn climate of the Carpathian Mountains forces you to build fires, move around to stay warm, or find shelter at night. Your stamina depends on which character you’ve chosen and how full your backpack is. A bottle of energy drink can help you temporarily avoid stamina problems.

When you run out of food and there’s no gas station or other source nearby, you can catch and cook a carp or hunt a wild animal to roast its meat over a fire, in an oven, or in a cauldron. Don’t forget about mushrooms and apples either.

Potions, Magic and Mysticism

Svetlograd is not just a city, and the nearby settlements are not simple villages. Many local legends tell of mysticism, dark and light magic, and mythical beings — meaning that the people here are far from ordinary. In The Legacy, you’ll find recipes for magic potions, information about dark entities and how to fight them, and ancient rituals. Collect herbs, mushrooms, and other ingredients. Learn the local mythology and fight evil either with guns and bullets or through rituals and potions.

Large Open World and Diverse Locations

The game features a large open world to explore while completing quests and struggling to survive. While exploring, you’ll find notes from local residents telling mystical stories about Svetlograd and its surroundings.

Each time you start a new game, all game items — such as food, weapons, ammo, book pages, enemies, plants, mushrooms, and animals — appear in random places. This ensures that every playthrough feels truly new and unpredictable.

Construction, Resource Gathering and Crafting

With tools like an axe or a knife, you can gather resources. If you don’t have tools, try breaking sticks with your bare hands — but be careful, as you can easily cut yourself and will need bandages. The materials you collect can be used to craft various items or to build your own house, base, or camp. In a team, construction goes faster: one player gathers resources, another builds, while the third lights a fire and cooks food — so after setting up camp, you can enjoy a meal and regain your strength before new adventures.

• Start the game with basic equipment and weak weapons, but through exploration, discover advanced weapons, encounter military NPCs with AI, or find secret bunkers containing rare gear — but be careful… inside the bunker...;
