**A promising early access game that deserves a fair chance** I want to give some recognition to the developer behind *The Left Behind*. This is a passion project made by a solo developer who is clearly putting a tremendous amount of time, effort, and heart into building this game. Yes, the game is in Early Access. Yes, there are bugs and rough edges. That is the entire purpose of Early Access — to release a work in progress, gather feedback, improve, and build something better with the community. What stands out to me is that the developer is actively listening. They have a Discord community, they are responding to feedback, and they are working through issues instead of ignoring player concerns. That kind of communication and dedication is something worth supporting. It is disappointing to see some reviews judging this game as if it were a finished AAA release. Early Access is not a promise of perfection on day one; it is an opportunity to be part of the development process. If you choose to play an Early Access title, you should expect bugs, balance changes, missing features, and improvements over time. This game has potential, and I would rather support a developer who is genuinely working to make their game better than immediately tear down a project because it isn’t finished yet. If you enjoy being part of a game’s journey from early development to a more complete experience, give *The Left Behind* a chance. Offer constructive feedback, be patient, and remember there is a real person behind this project who is working hard to make something special.

I'm gonna be honest - i bought this game out of spite to all the haters i see in the message boards and reviews - and I don't regret it. Why? Because the concept is dead on. If you get past the technical gripes (some of which are valid) the real gripe is that people want this game to be like EVERY OTHER ZOMBIE GAME out there. I think the game could really be a refreshing change from the typical recipe for a zombie survival game. The zombie survival genre is just the same boring craft/get strong/beat a stupid story recipe. No one is making a permadeath arcade style survival game that doesn't allow save scumming. There was a time when a high-score was all that mattered. Zombie survival games should be about "how long can you last" not about how OP you can become. The Left Behind feels like a game that wants you to struggle and try to beat your last session. That's what I feel like this game is foundationally speaking. So if you like that idea, support the dev so they can work out the kinks. It's a $10 game. Stop being a cry baby poor person. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt and let him build this passion project. The review bombs are unnecessarily harsh. Go make a game if you have such a strong opinion of a $10 game ffs.
so Bad, not worth to buy it, there no Save Game mean if you Off game you will need start from Zero again + its like Phone Games or Flash game so bad .
I was excited for nothing, this game is a great disappointment. The zombies are not fighting back, the sound effects is not accurate as to what I am doing, example, I am slashing a wood using an axe but the sound effects makes it sounds like I was shooting a gun in it. The game also lack tutorial so if you are a novice gamer then you might have a hard time playing this game, example there are 4 circles in the bottom left corner indicating the health, hunger, thirst and stamina but I only manage to understand that since I am a gamer. The worst part of the game is the story mode as it lacks the direction and guide, it just say find the Antenna but it didn't says where, i have no map so good luck finding it and roaming the same houses over and over again, the only map you could ever find is the one that is posted in the wooden board and it actually tells nothing beside a few indication. This game needs a LOT of improvements, the graphics, the animation, sound effects, frame rate, story and more! I'll be back after a few updates!
I... no... I can not... I played barely 10 minutes and I was done with it. Which really pisses me off because I sure the dev behind this poored in blood, sweat, and tears. But I can also not help but get the feeling that AI was heavily involved in the making of this, and I am talking about programming, scripting, and modelling and rigging. But that is not the reason for my negative review. You can not climb nor vault broken windows, not even windows that stretch from ground to ceiling can be traversed. Attack animations (melee), feel incredibly awkward, to the point of where attacking with a melee weapon will just perform an armswing top down at the side of the character as if he was chopping off a fish head, but the attack strikes center to the crosshair. It just feels super awkward. But what is worse is the fact, that if you downed a zombie, they are effectively immune to your melee attacks, as there are no attacks that strike anywhere below crotch level. Homes that you can enter feel empty, they are 80% unfinished and unfurbished rooms. A lot of them have just locked doors, some suffer heavily from clipping level geometry (walls clipping into windows or doors). You have to duck to walk through rolled up garage doors, zombies can btw open those because they trigger upon interaction. You may accidentally waste your wooden planks on barricading windows because there is no prompt key shown, but pressing interact near a window will barridace it if you have planks in your inventory. No confirmation, no button hold to prevent accidents, it just happens, and no way to retrieve those planks again either. The world feels largely dead and empty, every square kilometre you may find something lying around (tool or weapon). This game should not have released for another 6 months. It is a proof of concept at best, And then there is this random cow pasture in the middle of the city... wtf? But yeah, this is what AAA would sell you as EA, when it should be not even closed Alpha test, but simply proof of concept. And it is marketed as full release......... This is as of release date July 31st, 2026. There is potential there but right now, ♥♥♥♥ no, I don't want to spend another minute in this. Word to the devs: I will definitely come back to it and check in again in a couple of months after some update logs show some of the glaring problems beind addressed. And I hope they manage to fix it, because I know the current "Mostly Negative" review score can be heartwrenching if you put in genuine effort. But take it as a learning experience, do not release too early. do not count on Erly Access to solve your liquidity if your EA result isn't already beyond par, and don't let the scrutiny and critiscism cut you off from under your knees, but instead fuel you to rise above and beyond. But if I was in your shoes, I would pull it fom sales, refund the people that have made purchases, even if that means you have to pay fees, and then come back in six months and blow us away with the fixes. If you leave it up, and don't fix things within a week or two, you may not ever be able to recover, as unfortunately that is how Steam works, if you don't have a marketing department with a budget the size of the dev expenses.
The potential is amazing, even now it has advantages. Open world, Many lootable locations, to me, this is a great start. Of course it will just get better as updates come along. Optimization right now is a struggle but over all I see a clear picture for what the Developer is looking for and I am all for it. I look forward to the updates and progression this game will receive. There are higher standards for wants from people which is understandable but what most of these reviewers do not realize is, IT IS A SMALL STUDIO and its in EA. If people think they will get a fully fleshed out game from a singular designer releasing the game in EA are not people whose reviews should be counted on as their views often are obscured in reality. People who kept an open mind and know what this is, a fresh spin from a small studio, will see not just the potential but also enjoy the ride. Especially since it appears this developer is actually listening to feedback which is rare.
If the game does not get optimized soon it will be dead the same week it dropped. Do better devs.
I never really write reviews but i feel like this game deserves it people are judging this game far too harshly far too quickly its an early access release which means the game is not finished being developed and even finished releases are never perfect on day one. I played this game with my partner and look forward to playing some solo story too its actually really fun once i found a shotgun i enjoyed running down the hordes of zombies that kept coming my way theres alot of things i would like added and worked on but it was a pretty fun time and for its price honestly was totally worth it in my opinion
