About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

アプデでプレイアブル種族にクマちゃん追加されました!! サイコー!!
Looks like the devs were tired of waiting for a proper spiritual successor to Morrowind and took up the challenge themselves. And so far I'd say they've nailed it, with their own unique vision in mind. Lage handcrafted world with attention to detail, there are voiced characters and communities scattered, I love the alien and strange quirks it has throughout, and the combat is typical. I'm pretty invested, cant wait to see more. May be too early to tell, but I'm putting this one in my favorites for those reasons (Morrowind!). Side Note: the Calyx race has digitigrade hindlimbs, just like the khajiit in Morrowind, a feature that Bethesda should've kept in later titles! Very cool to see.

We are so back baybee This game is a clear love letter to morrowind, and I soy over all the references. It's such a cozy atmospheric rpg, lore rich and engaging. In it's current early access state it's more complete of an experience and stable than the majority of AAA titles at launch. I suspect lower end systems may have performance issues at times, but along with minor gameplay and UI elements, these are bound to improve with subsequent updates.
They should have left the original trailer up on the store page, but I'll forgive them for removing it, since they are trying to make enough money off this game to make the next one. It's great. There's minimal jank tbh, and as a scrollslike, that's high praise, because bethesda hasn't been able to get their own engine to run right for almost 30 years now. This really does feel like the successor to Morrowind that Oblivion and Skyrim absolutely weren't. This is a tribute in the most sacred sense I've seen in a product. There's so much reverence for the inspiration, while quietly adding all kinds of little quality of life changes. You could spend 20 bucks on this, grab the GOTY of morrowind for 15, and have a better experience than any AAA game I've bought in years, barring something made by Fromsoft. Buy this ♥♥♥♥, coward.
Ran poorly and felt empty
Finished the game yesterday - Although it is released, it is shown to have alot to work on - however the lore, the simple quest and explorations make this game super enjoyable with the fact this is a prologue to another game that's being developed. if you enjoyed oblivion, morrowind - this could spark that RPG interest of yours again.
I really want to like this game.. But I can't. The dev has been hard at work pushing updates, which is great. But the game itself is in what feels like an alpha state. It stutters, glitches, bugs constantly, and the entire game design feels like it's fighting against the player. Everything is vague, unexplained, obscure. You have to constantly battle a horrible UI in order to figure out what is what and you won't make any significant progress in the game without meta knowledge or a SIGNIFICANT amount of note-taking or hours spent. Maybe once the UI is improved and the quests are made clearer it'll be better, but for now, it's just painful to play. The game is also horribly optimized because the whole world is rendered constantly.
Buggy mess atm, network connection is bad in co-op. Feels like paid playtest
this game is actually incredible with an extremely active community, with vocal, transparent, and hardworking devs constantly pushing out updates n such. cant wait to see the future of this game!
