For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. With nothing left to lose, Fred embarks on a journey that forces him to confront the depths of his own mind—and the true cost of freedom.

2/10 experience, predictable unscary jumpscares that makes no sense just as the whole plot. The lantern doesnt even shine like lantern, but a flashlight therefore looks like an eye sore. At first i thought its another game with abstractionism motif but no, its just illogical to the core. Wouldnt recommend for free :c
THE GREEN LIGHT
Yet another short horror walking simulator that has a nice creepy atmosphere and second game developed by waleedzo. The visuals are decent so is the audio/music/voice acting. There is some light puzzles to uncover key items at certain times, requiring you trigger the proper script but nothing too annoying! So what is this one? Like the synopsis says, you go as Fred, an overworked guy that's haunted by hallucinations and want's answers once and for all by that lighthouse beacon known as the Green Light. No technical issues nor bugs encountered in my playthrough. Perfect UltraWide monitor support. HOWEVER, same as The Black Within, I'd like to point out that the game is not that well optimized and kept pushing my GPU at full throttle on default settings. Once I fixed the FPS to 120, the game ran better and my GPU wasn't a rocket engine no more.
RECOMMENDATION:
Simple and short horror walking simulator. You already know those and if you're familiar with that kind of game, THE GREEN LIGHT is a pretty decent one. I recommend you get play this game after The Black Within since it is connected to it.

It's a nice horror game, voice acting, graphic, ambience. Just for the objective might be confusing something.
A very nice horror game, but most of the jump scares were not very impactful, however the buildup to them is well worth it.
Developed and published by waleedzo, The Green Light is a psychological horror adventure that places narrative and atmosphere above traditional action. Rather than throwing players into relentless encounters with monsters or relying on constant jump scares, the game tells the story of Fred, a weary employee trapped in an exhausting routine who finds himself drawn toward a mysterious lighthouse after hearing an unsettling voice through a radio. The promise of freedom represented by the strange green light becomes the driving force behind the journey, but the deeper Fred ventures into this mystery, the more uncertain the line between reality and illusion becomes. The premise immediately establishes an introspective tone, presenting horror through emotional struggles and psychological uncertainty instead of straightforward survival. The game's greatest strength lies in the way it creates tension through its environments and storytelling. Every location is designed to reinforce feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and isolation, encouraging players to carefully explore their surroundings while piecing together the larger mystery. Darkness, subtle environmental details, and carefully placed lighting effects contribute to an oppressive atmosphere that constantly keeps players on edge. The lighthouse itself serves as more than a destination, becoming a symbolic representation of hope, temptation, and escape. This symbolism gives the adventure greater depth, allowing the narrative to examine themes such as dissatisfaction, depression, personal sacrifice, and the consequences of chasing an idealized solution to life's problems. Gameplay remains intentionally simple, focusing on exploration and narrative progression instead of complicated mechanics. Players spend most of their time investigating environments, following clues, and experiencing scripted story moments that gradually reveal Fred's emotional state. While those looking for challenging puzzles or combat-heavy gameplay may find the experience relatively straightforward, this minimalist design keeps the attention firmly on the unfolding story. The pacing is measured, allowing suspense to build naturally as each new discovery raises additional questions about the mysterious voice, the lighthouse, and whether Fred is being guided toward salvation or something far more sinister. The audiovisual presentation does an excellent job supporting the game's psychological themes. Detailed environments, effective shadow work, and restrained visual effects create an unsettling world without relying on excessive gore or shock value. Sound design plays an equally important role, using ambient noises, quiet moments, and convincing voice performances to maintain a constant sense of unease. Silence is often just as effective as the soundtrack, making every unexpected sound feel meaningful. Together, the visuals and audio create an immersive experience that consistently reinforces the emotional weight of Fred's journey. Although The Green Light does not attempt to redefine psychological horror, it succeeds by remaining focused on its strengths. The combination of symbolic storytelling, immersive atmosphere, and emotionally driven narrative creates an experience that feels more thoughtful than many horror games built solely around scares. Some players may wish for greater gameplay variety or more interactive mechanics, but those who appreciate slow-burning horror with meaningful themes will likely find its approach rewarding. It delivers an engaging narrative that encourages reflection long after the final moments, making it a worthwhile choice for fans of story-focused horror adventures. Rating: 7/10
Short but atmospheric horror game. The candle puzzle was simple but fun, and the environment had a creepy vibe. Took me about an hour to finish, but I enjoyed the experience. Looking forward to more games from this developer.
So was finde ich immer sehr gelungen.
The Green Light me surpreendeu pela proposta. Ainda assim, a mensagem central funciona.
not that good sorry
Liked it, the story was interesting and I assume it was about
leaving a job that burns one out and chasing the dream of becoming an artist
which is a theme we see IRL ever that often. The overall aestethics were a bit all over the place, but as it seems to be a solo-dev-project it is kinda acceptable and still matched each other, I mean, try to find matching assets without paying too much money or learning 3D modelling yourself. The length is fine too. I tend to rush through things and an hour of gameplay is fine in my opinion, sure, 3€ would be a bit more fair for the length but that's a "me thing". What I actually didn't like where the puzzles which were somehow too easy because they had the solution written above them, or because it was just a hunt for objects. And I didn't like the sound balancing, one second really quiet, the next my headphones get overloaded. But aside from that, a pretty fine game, wouldn't mind seeing the devs next game, because I can see potential.
