Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 13 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Has your dog ever stared into the darkness, barking at something you couldn't see? Maybe they've growled at a quiet hallway in the dead of night or watched an empty corner of your ceiling, tracking something invisible with eerie focus.
As the family dog, it's your job to protect your loved ones from danger—especially from the kind they can't see. In The Good Dog: Chasing Shadows, step into the paws of a loyal dog defending its owners from paranormal entities.

In the Fetch game mode, you're tasked with venturing out into a desolate world to retrieve supplies your family needs to survive. Explore abandoned towns and decaying buildings while avoiding the terrifying entities that haunt the places you once called home. As the days pass, your job will become harder. Resources will spawn less often and farther apart, and your daily resource target will become more demanding, all while the dangers outside grow stronger.
Explore three large maps at launch, each with a unique selection of landmarks and weather conditions.

Use your keen sense of smell to search the area for tools. Dig up hidden items to help fight back against the paranormal. Bark at certain immaterial entities to disperse them, or at physical entities to draw their attention away from your family.
And if all else fails, use your teeth.
In the world of the Entities, however, even dogs need a helping hand. Utilize technology repurposed by your human companions to get the job done: flashlights to see better in the dark, a portable speaker to distract enemies, and even a robot dog companion to help you carry supplies.

With over twenty breeds to choose from, you can tailor your gameplay to your preferred style. Will you play as a small breed, perfect for slipping into tight spaces and evading danger, or a larger breed with more health and attack power to take on threats head-on? Will you prioritize a breed with high stamina, tracking capabilities, stealth, or something else entirely? Whatever your approach, there will be a breed that suits your playstyle.

i love it, and i have high hopes for future updates, i would love to see more variants of dogs, and maps and maybe even more entities (not too much), very unique game, not too chaotic but enough to keep you on your toes, some entities need buffs for harder modes though, i played on the hardest mode on the first map and i was able to kill all enemies rather quickly, thats just what i think, i do like challenges, but if people prefer without less stress then so be it :) Edit: I also love that they added in options to turn off the sounds and animation of your dog getting hurt/dying after attacks for dog lovers (thats just how i view it) , AND most importantly they have arachnophobia mode! now i can play this game with my partner without worry :)
I enjoyed playing the game, though me and friends had some difficulties figuring it out at first. the invite feature was buggy, my friend tried to invite me and another friend, but neither of us got the invite. we were able join by going to steam and manually joining off our friend. the third map had a glitch where one of our friends would glitch out and could not play that map. even though we ran into some issues it was pretty fun to play. I look forward to more content in this game.

Having done the tutorial, run around in Explore mode, and dipped my toes into a few Fetch games, I think it's okay. I was actually shocked that it ran well on my laptop. It will probably sit next to Picayune Dreams as a game I enjoy for a little while longer and then shelf (until an update catches my attention). It is still quite early in development and will not be done for another ~10 months (at least) according to the dev, and as such it's missing things like enemy variety and more game modes. To be clear, this game has good bones, it's just lacking in features. There isn't much to do. The glitches I've encountered so far have been annoying as opposed to catastrophic, and usually fix themselves with a bit of finagling. So far there are only three enemy types (plus the worms that kill you for going out-of-bounds). They're all pretty simple once you figure out how to counter them, more so if you have packmates to coordinate attacks with. Banshees are the most interesting because on top of their teleporting behavior, you have to bark to kill them. This can draw other enemies to your location. It's a neat bit of risk-reward! That said, I'm not sure how I feel about the tutorial section not mentioning the method used to defeat the wraith. 🤔 One small problem specific to me, I'm not reliably able to detect enemies before they detect me. I have tinnitus / hearing damage in one ear, which makes soft sounds like footsteps hard to decipher at times. Also, to be fair, I was getting caught a lot because I was running a lot. It's very easy to run right into an enemy's path and not realize until it's too late. You want to run because you're on a timer in Fetch mode, but the best way to stay safe is to crouch around everywhere, which is SO SLOW. Not a problem on Difficulty 1 where you only have a handful (pawful?) of tasks, but the higher the Dif, the less time you can waste. I think this is purposeful to ensure that players will encounter enemies more often, but I wonder if at the highest level, this ends up forcing you to just run past or kill everything? The most glaring problem so far: Glitchy hitboxes. For example, the robot dog is a walking backpack that helps you stockpile supplies. Sometimes the targets that let you place items in its back disappear, and you have to take it on a walk to make them come back. This is mildly annoying if you're in the clear, but if an enemy is lurking it's a hassle.
The idea of the game is great but it runs HORRIBLY on my pc (that can run warframe perfectly) Honestly think it wouldve been so much better if the game had been made in unity
genuinely its a peaceful game to play with friends despite being spooky, i do think that unlocking the dog breeds should be a bit easier. Its pretty hard as a new player to play this solo and reach 4 levels to get a new dog
This game's concept is very interesting and intriguing. As a dog lover, this game is really fun. I've always enjoyed animal role-play and/or survival games, and this takes it to the next level. The game still needs improvements and bug fixes, but as a new game, that is expected. It is really good for being so fresh! I'm excited to see where this goes.
heads up its really scary and cute
