I honestly don't know what game kicked off this style of repeating walkthrough anomaly hunting game. Was it this one? Perhaps. Fads come and go quickly, and it's been three years since Exit 8's initial release, which is an eternity. All that is to say that I kind of have to base my grade on how much ingenuity it showed from a gameplay perspective in November 2023. Because there's just not much [i]to[/i] it as an existing game in late 2026. The environment is minimal, the anomalies are generally not very spooky, and you can make it through (as I did) in about 20 minutes or probably less if you're more observant than I am. This is barer than many game jam games. There may be more to do -- like finding all the anomalies -- but I don't feel particularly compelled to do so. But ... it's [i]cheap[/i]. I got it for $2.50 USD, and maybe in some sense you could argue that's steep for 20 minutes of entertainment in the context of video games, but c'mon. At least where I live that's basically pocket change. I don't feel ripped off. I'm not sure it justifies the base price (currently four bucks), though, except insofar as you want to experience a notable game that inspired what appears to have been a very good movie.

Un petit jeu d'anomalies plutôt sympa, surtout si vous cherchez une expérience tranquille qui demande un peu d'observation et de réflexion. 👀 Exit 8 n'est pas vraiment un jeu effrayant et reste assez classique dans son approche des anomalies. On retrouve des situations que l'on peut assez rapidement identifier si on prend le temps d'observer correctement son environnement. Les anomalies ne sont pas forcément très compliquées à trouver, ce qui permet de profiter du jeu sans avoir besoin de se prendre la tête pendant des heures. C'est justement ce qui fonctionne bien ici : on analyse, on réfléchit, on avance… sans finir complètement fou au bout de 20 minutes. 😂 Ce n'est peut-être pas le jeu qui révolutionnera le genre, mais il fait ce qu'on lui demande et le fait plutôt bien. Une petite expérience sympa pour passer un moment à observer et réfléchir tranquillement. 👻

I can confirm that the game is just as good as the movie. I loved finding every possible anomaly because some of them were very difficult to spot, in places you wouldn't even think to look.
