There is a reason Skyrim has remained in the top 100 games actively played on Steam for 15 years running. Its a masterpiece in open-world role-playing, a game that still feels expansive, alive, and endlessly inviting. From the moment you step out of that cart into the snow-swept wilds of Skyrim, the game hands you near-total freedom: climb any mountain, join any faction, become a stealthy assassin, a righteous warrior, a powerful mage, or something far stranger, all while the world reacts with dragons roaring overhead and radiant quests pulling you into unexpected stories. Its atmosphere is unmatched—the haunting soundtrack, the way light filters through pine forests, the sense that every cave or Nordic ruin might hide something wondrous or deadly—and the sheer scale of its systems for crafting, magic, and character progression lets players lose hundreds of hours simply existing in Tamriel. The Shouts and Magic system work really well in Skyrim, and the dragon lore, combined with some very well written characters you meet along the way, complete the entire experience. The legendary modding community transformed it into something even greater, extending its life far beyond any official support and turning it into a platform for endless creativity. The game has an influence that echoes through every major open-world RPG that follows, Skyrim became the definitive modern fantasy experience, a game that continues to feel like home no matter how many times you return. It's Skyrim, so mod it with concerning devotion and never play it.

I love how antagonistic Bethesda is, updating their old games knowing it'll break mods and piss people off but still doing it anyway. If the company did this 20 years ago employees would need armed security escorts to reach their cars after work safely.

STOP BREAKING THE GAME.

Just pirate the game if you want to play it modded since for some reason, this 15 year old game keeps getting worthless updates that break everything.

This is the type of game that I'll play with a cup of tea on a rainy day. I don't have a single thing to dislike about Skyrim, but my favorite thing has to be the music, the landscapes, and the medieval ambiance. I definitely recommend if you're looking for something to fit medieval vibes or something with a little bit of everything, or something to play during autumn and winter because I feel like this game is perfect for those two seasons. It will always stay in my top recommendations.

Please, please, please stop updating the game. We know you exist. Shut up.

I honestly cannot believe that Bethesda keeps updating their games we do not need they updates in the slightest stop breaking my mods

Was one of the greatest games of all time. Problem is Bethesda has long let go of the people that made the Elder Scrolls great. But the reason im writing this negative review is because of the hostile forced updates. Its obvious what they are doing and I can say for certain that no one should buy another Bethesda Game. The only way anybody should access one of their games now is to pirate it to avoid forced updates making Todd Howards only reason for being relevant unplayable. Truly disgusting!!!!!!
