The Dead are Not Dead

Don't get fooled by the high review score, this is a terrible survival horror game. Here are the reasons why: -tank controls, just why??? -controls overall are just bad -you can't attack crouching zombies with the knife, also they are way too fast -cutscenes when going through a door -no cross hair, aiming just sucks, bullets often don't hit even when you feel they should have -at the other hand zombies damage you from way too far -you can open the inventory during a cutscene and shoot, zombies still move towards you and play their attack animations (even though they can't damage you) -the two singing parts in the game are annoying -in general you barely find any items, exploring is usually not rewarded -it's clunky and buggy -lots of backtracking -first boss sucks hard, I could only beat him because he glitched out -performance can be bad even though the game has ps1 graphics -randomized sliding puzzle

Good old Rafael (this time I won't mis-spell the name ahahah) did it again! Really, out of his incredibly large library of games, this must be the one I had most fun with. This game is a love letter to both the classic zombie movies (particularly the italian ones I might proudly say!) and the classic RE games. Everything has been made to mimic both as faithfully as possible, in particular I loved the inclusion of all (ALL!) the mechanics of old RE games that we all know, and the remarkable variety of the zombie models, that are all particularly creepy-looking. Please be aware that this game is not meant to be something original or astonishing, it has been designed to look "trashy" and "low-budget" on purpose, just like all of Rafael's games. This is exactly the "so bad so good" factor of all his production that I fell in love with. Maybe some of you won't understand this attachment of mine, but it doesn't matter, I highly recommend this little gem if you share my same opinion. Also, I liked the numerous references to The Last of US, one of my favorite games ever, that gave to the game an unexpected by very appreciated "melancholic" tone. Can't wait to see what else you will come up with Rafael, keep up the good work! Cheers guys!

Joguinho bão! Paguei 3 reais nele então não posso ser tão crítico. Esse jogo é uma homenagem a The Last of Us, Silent Hill e Resident Evil. Jogo feito com aqueles gráficos de PS1 e é um survival horror bem curtinho e gostoso de jogar. As partes negativas são: - Sem suporte para controle - Se você usa 2 monitores o mouse clica fora do jogo e pausa ou te atrapalha - Mal otimizado, fez uma RTX2060 ficar quase sempre com 80% da capacidade - Não tem legendas e PTBR Mas mesmo assim recomendo o jogo ele é curto e barato! While the narrative won’t win awards—it's serviceable and surprisingly serious for a developer better known for quirky titles like Poop Killer—it sets a decent tone for the gameplay loop. The gameplay will feel instantly familiar to fans of old-school survival horror. You’ll explore a handful of interconnected environments, collecting weapons, key items, and battling or avoiding undead threats. There's no reinvention here, and the game doesn’t try to be more than what it is: a loving tribute. The puzzles are basic, the environments sparse but effective, and the game’s structure tightly designed so it doesn’t overstay its welcome. One of the more unique (and slightly awkward) features is the combination of tank controls with a free 360-degree camera. It’s a strange hybrid that feels clunky at times, especially in tight spaces or during combat. The stop-and-go motion of reorienting both the camera and the character can disrupt immersion, particularly when using a controller. Mouse and keyboard might offer smoother navigation, though your mileage may vary. Still, the challenge never becomes punishing, and the quirks are part of the charm for those who grew up on this style of gameplay. Mi ha stupito, non ci avrei dato mezzo euro è invece è stato molto interessante! Inizio con un bella suonata e cantata con la chitarra, per finire in modo molto riflessivo🧐 Ambientazione molto bella, anche se i modelli erano ripetuti non ne ho sentito la pesantezza. Gli enigmi semplici, ma nel complesso piacevole. Mi verrebbe da dire che è stile "Resident Evil", una volta che si prende dimestichezza con i comandi vecchia generazione non ti ferma più nessuno😎 L'unica cosa che non ho apprezzato è leggendo le varie note che ci sono nel gioco, una volta arrivato nei dialoghi vengono svelate delle cose che abbiamo avuto modo di leggere prima, la il personaggio si comporterà come se non avesse letto nulla, peccato...😕 Quanto ho odiato quelle mosche nelle orecchie😅
