About
Discover a world of mystery and self-discovery with The Core, an immersive action-adventure game. As an autonomous AI core, you awaken alone in a long-forgotten facility, your memory lost. Embark on a thrilling journey to uncover your true identity and unravel the purpose behind your creation.
Explore a vast and mysterious world as you roll through the decaying remains of a once-active facility, where rusted machinery, dark corridors, and forgotten systems hint at a long-lost past. Emerge onto the surface, you’ll find a beautiful but bleak, dystopian landscape where humanity appears to have vanished. As you explore, uncovering scattered clues, recordings, and systems left behind, you slowly piece together the story of what happened to the world—and the truth behind your own creation and purpose.
As an autonomous Core, you must quickly learn to move, adapt, and survive in a world that offers no guidance. Master the art of momentum as you navigate treacherous terrain, overcome environmental hazards, and unlock upgrades that enhance your mobility and abilities. What begins as a simple set of tools soon becomes something far more powerful—devices meant for utility can be repurposed into formidable weapons when danger arises. With each new challenge, you grow more capable, turning curiosity and ingenuity into the keys to survival.
As you explore deeper into the world, scattered clues and forgotten records begin to reveal the story behind your existence. Piece by piece, you’ll uncover fragments of the past that hint at the minds who built you and the reason you were brought to life. What starts as a search for answers slowly becomes a journey toward understanding your true purpose—and ultimately, you must decide whether to complete a mission that was set in motion so long ago.
Team up with 2–4 players to take on the new co-up trials built around teamwork and puzzle-solving. Coordinate your actions, overcome unique obstacles, and solve increasingly complex challenges that require your entire team to succeed.
Armed with your versatile zapper, almost anything is possible. Channel its energy to flick lights on in dark corridors, toss objects with pinpoint precision, and clear obstacles blocking your path. When danger appears, the same tool becomes a powerful weapon, capable of neutralizing enemies in creative ways. Every interaction feels dynamic, turning simple tasks into satisfying puzzles and thrilling moments, making exploration, problem-solving, and combat equally fun and rewarding.
In The Core, puzzles aren’t just obstacles—they’re part of the adventure. Many are environmental, challenging you to manipulate doors, switches, fans, pressure plates, moving platforms, pipes, rails, and more to unlock new paths or reach distant areas. Some test your navigation skills, requiring you to find your way to hidden endpoints, while others demand clever collection and use of objects scattered throughout the facility. Each puzzle feels alive, blending exploration, timing, and ingenuity to keep you constantly thinking, experimenting, and discovering new ways to interact with the world around you.

Love what I've played so far. Portal (1 and 2) was one of my favorite games, and this scratches that itch in a brand new way. Exploration is rewarding, puzzles are challenging, but solvable, and the writing and music is top notch. I hope the rest of the game is as good as the start!
I missed a talking ball since Portal 2. Enjoyed it so far. Looking forward for what's up next. Only downside so far for me are the thrusters. Hard to handle and i had to skip most of the Section 5 trials.
dont bother buying this as it ends where the demo ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ends so there is no point in buying it yet

If you liked Portal, who doesn’t, you love this!
Put in difficulty setting in for this game. There is no reason the trials need to be impossible. If other people want to stress out while playing your game then that's their perspective, but I prefer games that don't cause me to rage quit. So for us "snowflakes" can you please add a difficulty setting.
The game has a lot of potential, however the stupid f*cking mini game bullsh*t makes it impossible to actually play the damn game. I would avoid unless you want to spend your time doing mindless bullsh*t. I would love to give a glowing f*ck you to whoever designed that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
This game starts strong, setting up a lot of questions to investigate for those who pay attention to the environment and dialogue. Skatoo is somewhat of a more "innocent" AI then appear in most media, as he basically boots up for the first time when the game starts, and is more interested in who he is than the other questions a player might have. His back and forth with LANDA does a good job characterizing both, and the fact that Skatoo can notice environmental details that he refrains from telling LANDA because she asked him to do something, shows that he cares more about helping her than what the humans who were there before might have been worried about. I've currently made it far enough in the game to find the 5th key for challenges (though have only played through the end of challenge 4-6), and can say that I enjoy them so far, and like how they get you thinking more about how the mechanics work in varying environments. I'm also liking how the story is developing so far, and the fact that there are rooms along the way that can be opened if you have completed the trials for more items or lore does a good job of convincing me to beat the trials as soon as I can (even more than their credit rewards do). Not only do the environments do a good job of telling a story all on their own, but the music does a great job of drawing you in. I wasn't expecting to enjoy the music and sound design as much as I did, but I'm happy to report that I've even enjoyed the little "tings" from when Skatoo ends up running up against rails or other surfaces. For those that like platforming puzzles, liminal spaces, or investigating within abandoned facilities, this game gives them a lot to dig into. I look into seeing both where the story goes from here, and what the daily challenges will be like when I finally unlock them. I'll try to update this review when I make it further.
I played the demo and enjoyed it very much. After buying the game and playing a couple of days I realized I need to adjust the settings on my controller. After doing this the game RESET TO THE BEGINNING AND ALL MY SAVES WERE LOST! If this is by design, then they ought to at least warn you when you do this! THIS IS TERRIBLLE!
Just an hour in and I know I'm going to love this. Puzzles are intuitive but require some level of platforming and 3D spatial awareness, not just for setting up a puzzle but executing through it. Controlling Skatoo is fun, the momentum and weightiness of it feels a bit like Marble Madness (albeit with more control, since this game isn't here to eat your quarters). The upgrade system and objective gating is a good metroidvania kind of experience, with plenty of potentially new areas to explore after backtracking. The music is also pretty special!
It was fun up until you get to the point where you can't progress unless you go complete the trials! What the heck? Those should be optional or maybe you only have to finish the first one in each to continue progressing. This stinks, I'm stuck and can't progress because i can't beat all of the trials. Make them optional.... Also want to add in the demo graphics issues weren't all that bad. I think i had 2 times where it glitched and the view flopped back and forth. In the game this happens alot more.
