The Clockwork Man

Not a game for playing on a high resolution display. Many of the objects to be found are absolutely tiny, and impossible to recognise. While I will continue to struggle through it, this is not what I would call a 'fair' hidden object game. On the positive side, some of the accents are hilarious.

I sat down to enjoy some puzzle fun, and 2 hours later I was done. Fun, but too short.

One of the puzzles was broken, it lacks other gameplay elements that you usually find in other hidden object games. In this game there is dialog then you have a hidden object puzzle, pretty much all the way through the game, only a few other puzzles

This game is about 3 out of 5 stars. Maybe only 2. It's not that it's a wreck ... it's just that it doesn't play very well. I've tried both options, and can't get the game to play full-screen. Given that the hidden object items are ridiculously small sometimes, this makes it VERY bad, as I'm only using 75% of my monitor space. Not cool. I hope that the ladies don't get ahold of this game, because even the mildest feminist would probably scoff at the ongiong plot: A you woman with an engineering background, constantly being told to clean up after every man who comes along. And ... I just loaded the sequel, and see that it has the same NOT-fullscreen issue. Bugger this. I'm uninstalling and moving on.

You go from one hidden object scene to the next, not much game play in between. This is a very short game, I only made it to 3 hours by letting it run while doing other things. For my taste the main character is rather annoying and not the smarted cookie out there. Also, some of the item to search for are multiple times in the scene, so that you don't only have to find e.g. a lipstick, but the right one. For a true HOG fan, this is ok, but for anyone new to the genre, there are better games out there.
